I am thinking of removing the rear badges in the car for a clean look. I don't yet have money for a body shop experience nor can I justify the cost either.(need to plug holes) I was wondering if I'd be able to use some sort of rubber for the holes and just just touch up paint to cover it. I understand it will not look 100% I am just looking for the best way to cover the holes without going to a bodyshop or using Bondo. Thanks guys :)

why take off ur badges........hey look at that silver generic car....hmm if only they had badges i could tell what it was......i dont like the debadged look.....but um....if ur gonna do it then do it right dont plug it with rubber...

I wanted to do that to. I like the ghost look. You might want to first get that big Mazda symbol off your front grill. Thats what I am doing. My billet grills are on the way.

Do you got lowes around you?? I took the protege and mazdaspeed badge off my car and i went to lowes and they have these nylon plugs that are 1/4 size that fit in the holes like a glove. Now i had an air brush kit so i just got some touch up paint and air brushed the touch up paint on the plugs and it worked great. If i get a change i will try and get some pics.

DO you have any pics of what it looks like? Also what section are they to be found in? Thanks :)

At lowes they can be found in the same isle as the screws and bolts. I tried home depot first but didnt find any..

People that haven't done it make a big deal about the holes, but as you can see, they are hardly even noticeable.

I asked them for plastic screws and it's in the same section as other screws. it comes in a bag of 10 for like a buck.

Are you sure those aren't the clear/white plastic screws that are used to plug front license plate holes? I used to have some of those in my old car & they worked great for that, but they would definately stand out on the trunk.

Up close...

Yep, just like I thought. Those match very well, but they stand out. Right now, all I have is 3M VHB tape on the inside of my trunk. I color-matched it to my car & it is hardly noticeable like I said. Until I get $$ to get the holes professionally filled & painted, I think this is the best option.

Copy & paste this link & you can get a good look at what I did.

one more Q

Is the width between the two holes where the mazdaspedd badge the same width as where the flying M is on the back of the car?

If so, I am thinking of moving the mazdaspeed badge to where the flying M is and just have that on the trunk. I think that would be badass
