Hello all,

Just a couple of quick questions. Looking to get out of my tC and have the opportunity to buy an MS3. 2008 leather nav 25K miles for 15K. The fender on the driver side needs to be replaced but the radio nav does not power on as well as the dome light. just wondering what the possible cause of this is.

Thanks in advance.

The electrical problems could be just a fuse. Sounds kinda pricey considering the body work needed.

Fixed the problem you think 15k is overpriced for a car that just needs a fender? Figured out this is also a touring pack car

w/ 25k mileage just make sure it doesn't appear to be modded, buying a MAZDASPEED car used is fairly risky in itself IMO - but one with damage and possibly modded, stay away.

that doesn't sound too bad. the warranty will be running up soon, so you'll want to consider that as well.

the main problem mods would be dodgy tunes, down pipes, and manual boost controllers. those, especially the first and last, can really **** up an engine. if you can bring it to a dealer and have them check it over with these items in mind, that would be ideal. they should be able to check the ecu and know where to look for the mbc.

the price doesn't seem too bad if you can replace the fender yourself and think you can do it without needing a paint job. otherwise that'll cost you some cash.

for what it's worth, i bought mine with 28k for a little less that $17k a year ago in great condition. i am the third owner (a big no-no with ms3's, didn't know that then..), but it has been great to me, no issues not created by myself.

When we got the car in and I started looking it over, i noticed that the dome lights werent working, neither was the keyless entry, the turbo timer, the radio, or nav. So I got them to let me take it home for the weekend(just turned it in today and I have to have this thing). Got it home started looking at all the fuses. Sure enough the fuse for the dome lights under the hood was blown. Swapped the fuse for the fog lights for the the blown one and everything came back on. No big deal problem solved.

Depending on what's going on under neath it may even be possible to save that fender. It might not look perfect but could potentially be much cheaper than a full replacement.
