so i had a visit to my dr a few weeks ago for numbmess in my hand...he sent me to the get some painfull tests done called an emg. turned out i have ulner neuropathy, and need surgery. and the sucky part is my nerve is so bady damaged that they are not even sure surgery will help. but basically they are gonna move the nerve from under my elbow to the top of my arm so the bending motion stops pinching it. so im not looking forward to this cause everything ive read says its very painful. has anyone else ever had this problem?

oh and basically what causes this is pressure on the elbow so sittin at my desk on mazda247 for 7 years prolly doesnt help lol also driving with the window down and ur arm on the ledge...so remember people keep ur arms straight lol....

oh also cause the lack on nerve function in my hand i have muscle wasting...basically that means the muscle in my hand is dying lol...i thought my hand was getting skinnier cause i was loosing weight lol guess not.

WOW.... that sucks. Good luck with the procedure. Hope everything goes well and that the surgery does help or fix the numbness.

As soon as i read you last post i straightened out my arms lol

I had my Ulnar moved "from bottom to top" of my elbow, when I had my Tommy John surgery due numbness in my index and pinky fingers. It is funny getting use to what the body is saying and what your reactions are. For example, you have an itch on the bottom of the elbow, were the nerve USE to be, but the itch is on top of the elbow where the nerve is now. At the end of this surgery, I got the feeling in my fingers back.

This has happened to my friend. His dog bit his wrist and struck a nerve. I asked him if he borrowed his hand from Skeletor. Anyways he is going to physical training to get it better. This happened this past new years day. He had to turn down his job with Subaru (as a mechanic) Anyways hes doing good now and he has works for Hyundai.

Have you though about physical training? Is it possible?

yeah they said because of how badly damaged it is the only thing that might possibly help would be surgery and they isnt 100% sure it would help therapy wouldld help at all they said. but im glad to hear you guys and your friend is doing good. ive red a few bad stories online and not much good has come from having the surgery

Well you could always say **** it and get a claw.

jj. Hope everythin goes well. Keep us updated.

Had mine done by Dr. Breidenbach, the guy that did the hand transplants.

Had no issues as it was the third of four surgeries he performed. Reattaching my fore arm muscles, the tip of my elbow, and shortening a tendon in my knuckle from putting my fist through a dashboard in a car wreck was much more of a pita.

Be sure to medicate the area after surgery while it is scabbing. Bending the elbow will widen the scab causing a more visible scar. Also, your funny bone won't be so funny any more after they move it. That will take some getting used to.

Just realized that I posted my response the same day as my accident 17 years later, to the day, about an hour before it happened. Crazy!
