Wow.....thats a damn good driver, my best time stock was 15.24

look at the dfference between the Pro5 and trhe MP3 times. those obviously weren't done the same day on the same track

those are from the back of road and track magazine i believe, or it maight have been car and driver, but i am also pretty sure that those times were made with a prototype car that had a steel bov and piping rather than the plastic ones that ended up on the production model. i could be mistaken, though.

that where the 10/02 "issue date" comes from, that is the issue of whatever magazine it was. also, if you go by those times, the RX-8 beats us by a mere 10th of a second in both 0-60 and in the 1/4 mile according to the same magazine's test. ( i remember looking that up and mentioning it on this forum a long time ago, but i'm too lazy to look up the thread right now.)

I think they tested that MSP going downhill with tail wind. Thre is NO way a stock MSP will run 14.9, not even 15.1 like the latest motor trend mag. 95% of the mag and people that went to the track, including me, did between 15.4 and 15.6 so I am VERY suspecious when only a handful of people can do better than that.
Maybe the boost was turned up?

We also have to remember that the weather conditions and driver and track affect the times. Plus not every mazdaspeed is going to run the same times stock. One might run slightly faster than the other. They will be close but I'm sure will vary about .5 sec. or more.

I had always heard the stock MSP was more of a 7 second 0-60 car. It damn sure didn't feel sub 7 fast when I drove it.
