Springs for the 2010 speed 3?

I checked the Eibach website too. Their's are still in development as well??? What gives? We're waiting(toetap).

A low priority vehicle to them apparently. Other cars like the 370Z and STI had springs out in no time. So on that note...

Dear H&R,

at this rate, i'm just gonna cut my springs and call it a day!

serious note, i'm eventually going to get coilovers, but think it's best to get springs for now (since i'm not going to track em), and wait till the shocks go bad to get coilovers - anyone agree?

but they need to be at least a 2" drop!!

Darkone,

I believe Road Magnet has some that work, only a 1" lower (again from what I have read). Saving for coilovers myself.

I installed BC Coilovers from the previous gen MS3 on my 2010 2 weeks after I picked up my car. I already had them from my Mazda 5 and they're a direct fit.
Compared to stock, spring rate is comparable - not any firmer. Drop was an even 1.5" front and back with damping adjustment.
The guys at BC said the 2010 kit will include firmer springs but I'm happy with the ride as is. If I was taking the car to the track at some point I can see the advantage of going firmer but it's my daily driver and I'm pretty happy about the ride quality.

Any update? I'm looking for a set of springs too. Was hoping that H&R would come through by now. I've had a couple sets of their springs on other cars and thought the product was really good. There's always the Mazdaspeed springs, but for the price and the crap drop it's not worth it, IMO

everywhere i've read has said that the 06-09 springs will work find on the 2010, but the springs are slightly lighter because the earlier gen is a lighter car to start with. I'm not sure if I'm willing to rush into it yet. But I want to drop my car bad too!! So i guess only time will tell. I am shocked that it has taken companies to bring out aftermarket goodies for the 3...

Someone at our meet last night told me the H&Rs are available, but way pricey. I can't seem to find them anywhere. I'd definitely go with H&R if they are available.

I don't want to slam, that's for sure just get rid of that silly wheel gap.

Negative. I called H&R... theyre "still in R&D". The ones you heard about must have been for earlier models which I refuse to put in my '10

Agreed, I'm itching to drop but I want to do it right and make sure they are designed for our car's suspension. Pain in the ass, but it's worth the wait.

Anyone know if 2010 Speed3 springs are out YET? (Besides AutoExe)

Thanks!

Nothing yet, I called H&R this week and no one was able to give me a straight answer. One person said they are out the other said they don't know the status a third said they're back-ordered.

I may be the test subject of dropping mine on the 09 sport springs and report my findings. From what I've heard and seen the spring rate is slightly different due to the increased weight of the 2010 MS3. But we're talking a ~70lbs differential here.

Worse case scenario the car is bouncy and doesn't ride properly, we go back to stock and I sell the springs. Time is the only thing lost, but experimentation is half the fun really.

Have you seen anyone on the forums with a 2010 using older H&Rs?

Not yet, then again there aren't tons of 2nd gens sprawling the boards, just yet. I've heard of people using Cobb, AutoExe, and Eibach springs with no issue. The only thing that I've read was a post somewhere about Eibach not recommending their 09 prokit on the 2010 as the drop was .2" lower than spec and pushes the limit of the camber.

The worst that can happy is the ride sucks and I pull them off. They can be had at about 230$ USD shipped so it might be worth it to experiment a bit. If I do, I'll be sure to start a thread and document.
