My Tokico install ...finally!

Well, it stopped raining long enough here in NY for me to get busy on my springs/struts. I ordered the Tokico Blues & spring combo from Protege Garage. From reading this forum, I figured I'd need end links as well ,so I found the fronts on ebay and the rears at the local dealership. The whole install took a few hours. The most time spent messing with the dreaded end links. I did have the "clunk" in the rear due to shorter spring height not allowing the strut nut to be tightened fully. 2 washers on each side solved that.
Most of the end links looked like the one in the pic. All had to be broken/cut off. 2 days after all this work, my "check engine" light came on..... more fun!

I wonder if the clunk you are etalking about is the same noise I hear. I have checked everything twice and I can't find anything. It is only when I go over sharp bumps at a slow speed.

The washers go right under the top nut. (on the rear struts) Without them I could push down on the rear of the car and see the nut raise up about 1/4 of an inch. Also, the "diving board " sound from the front left I used to have disappeared after replacing the shot endlinks. It's clunk free at last! (fingers are crossed as I type) . Ride is more comfortable than i expected ,and body roll is almost gone. Plus.... it looks cool! Racing Harts and new rubber coming next week. Then I can really see how she handles.

I had that too - but i just put a impact on it and tightened it up. No worries.
