It was bound to happen...

Well, my car was finally involved in a collision yesterday. I was fully backed out of my parking spot when I was backed into (rear bumper, passenger's side). The guy had just picked up his car as a rental from Enterprise here on base 20 minutes prior. Before I backed out, I looked and saw his car sitting in his parking spot. Next thing I know, BANG. The corner of the bumper was pushed in pretty far but popped out over night. The part right behind the rear wheel popped out and the entire bumper is spiderwebbed and looks cracked. My lower reflector is banged up pretty bad as well. Taillight still works fine. The thing is though, his car's bumper just has a couple scratches on it and that's it. Got in touch with my insurance company at the scene so that's all being taken care of. Guess all I can do is wait for my adjuster and hope I get a somewhat decent rental car....

Could've been worse though. No injuries and really, it's just a fender bender. But it's enough to piss one off. :(

I've got a couple on my phone. I don't have a data cable though so I can't upload them as of yet. :(

Ah yep. Got it.

First and second pictures are from yesterday. Third one is from this morning.

Yeah but the thing is is that the bumper is all spiderwebbed and the aread around the reflector is mashed up so I can't really do that.

Not to mention I'm currently living out of a hotel room until July on an AFB in Texas. Don't really have access to a lot of tools, other than my basic ones ;)

That totally sucks, but it could have been worse. Glad no one was hurt.

Aren't you TDY at Sheppard? The auto hobby shop was pretty good when I was stationed there, and the guys were pretty helpful, too.

Yeah, I am and yes, the auto hobby shop was pretty good when I changed my oil and plugs, but the bumper needs to be replaced. Insurance is already taking care of it. Actually, I haven't heard from my Adjuster yet... Should probably call them tomorrow...

Called up the shop today. "It should be done tomorrow. They were having issues with painting the bumper."

....I'm not going to be happy if this thing comes back looking jacked.

Yeah, it's all fixed now. The shade of paint on the bumper is slightly darker than the body but I looked at the front bumper and it's the same way. Different materials, I'm guessing.

Yeah. I've had it back for a few weeks. Forgot to post that :p

So you're from Richmond? I used to live up in Manassas.
