corolla bit the dust this morning...

daughter totaled out our old corolla this morning... took out 8 posts of farm fence on the way to school... backwards....

she is ok... all checked out and cat-scanned...

overall the car is pretty intact... no airbags went off. but tweaked and ruined it is... 167,000 trouble free miles.

Man sorry to hear that and glad she is okay!

Are you going to keep it and fix it or going to part ways with it?

one car wreck.. she doesn't remember what happened, but i bet she got it off the road a bit looking at the radio, grabbing her orange juice, or something (she is one of the few kids who won't use her cell in the car) and it went into the ditch before she had a chance to do anything... and i assume she was going too fast... because she always is... oh well.. scratch one toyota...

she is a great kid... honors student.. soon off to school on a band scholarship... she is upset that she messed up her car.. we took good care of it, though it was pretty worn out...

probably going to part ways with it.. i wouldn't put her back in it, and it would cost more to fix it than it would ever be worth anyway...and it looks tweaked, BENT.... they don't work to well as DITCH CLEANERS... i wonder how much it is worth in parts?

and to put her in something like a speed3????.... BWAAAAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA...

more like the biggest truck i can find with the smallest engine...

Glad she's OK, sounds like a good rugrat. Must've been quite a ride -- eight fence posts backwards, wow!

lol...(headshake

Glad your daughter is ok. Hope you get her back on the road soon so she can move on and get her confidence back.

I know its a joke but if your seriously considering it you might want to look into an older SWB F150 with a inline 6 (300) engine in it... decent gas mileage for a full size truck. You cant tear those motors up really and very dependable. Many of my truck form members have over 300K on the orig motor. However they are slow and poky. lol

Edit: oh and they are extremly cheap and easy to work on!

Glad to hear she is OK. I have an 18 year old daughter about to graduate High School.

I spent most of the day Sunday knocking out a dent and reattaching fender splash guards on my daughters 95 Integra LS. She took out a mail box Saturday morning. I was planning on getting her a couple of new tires soon but found one was splitting apart. I noticed it while working on the car. Only place open was Wal Mart, so I bought two Uniroyal Touring Trac's and put them on the front. The two tires moved to the rear are Falken 512's and are still plenty good. She is going off to college next fall and I hope this car will last another four years. The car has 192,000 miles on it, leaks a little oil but runs great.

Might I suggest a Honda CR-V? I drove one that had 99,000+ miles on it and it felt like it just rolled off the dealer's lot.

yea, they seem to be able to handle a good amount of abuse. my friend drives one and went like a year and a half and 12k miles without an oil change because he was convinced that it needed some magical key to get the oil filter off and only the honda dealer back home had it. and i know he doesnt drive it well either, i was with him one day and he hit 5000 rpm just after leaving the parking lot on an ice cold engine. i told him that it wasnt a good idea on a cold motor, and his reply was if he doesnt stomp on it, it won't even move. nonetheless, the car eats up everything he throws at it without complaining, so i'd second it as a good choice for her.

all good suggestions... and it is hard to kill a 300-6 ford engine... probably one of the best engines ever produced...

ah, we'll see...

I don't like the fact that she doesn't remember what happened. Some people have siezures that they don't remember happening... Hope thats not the case here.

i have had a good bump on the head after an accident, and i didn't remember anything i did the whole day before it happened...

but i understand your concern... we have another appt. with the doctor, and she is going to give us referral options as well as what other tests we should think about... but they still want to give her a few days.... :)

Yeah, hope everything turns out well for her I imagine its quite nerve wrecking to go through something like that.

glad to hear shes okay. too bad the corolla is so dinged up instead of just in one general area.
Those engine/tranny combos made from toyota can go well into the 200k with no major repairs, incredible. we still have a 92 camry with just a click under the 300k. those toyotas are no joke.
i just hope my speed can get to 100k with no major problems.
