Washed the car today and decided to finally remove my moldings.

left the car in the sun at the end of the driveway while I washed the wife's and then straighted up the garage. washed the MS3 then took her hair dryer to make sure the adhesive was warm enough. Took a plastic razor blade to 1 edge of a molding, then peeled it off.

Pic from a few weeks ago with the moldings:

And after the molding was removed

Some Quick Detailer and most of the residue came off

Then finally, ran the buffer real quick to get everything off

I don't know if i'm going to copy you this time..

I keep tossin back and forth on if i'm going to do it or not. But something tells me not to. They look fine on there, but on other colors, it looks better without the molding.

What took you so long to take them off!?(burnout) So much cleaner now.

decided this fall that I wanted them off, I was on th fence for a while. Wanted to wait for a warm enough day so there would be less adhesive to remove.

I like it better without the moldings, the plastic doesn't match the color to me on the white cars. . .it looks more yellow than white to me.

looks kinda nekkid

that's hawt.

Much better. I want to take mine off... they just don't fit with the lines of the car. I also want to get rid of this "invisible bra" thing the dealer had put on. It's starting to just look like a nasty scratch, and there are chunks of dirt in the ones on the doors. Any tips? By the way, was the molding residue reasonably easy to take off?

The wife says it looked like a daewoo with them on lol and much sleeker with them off.

Very easy. Leave it out in the sun on a warm day, heat with a hair dryer to make sure the adhesive is warm, peel off slowly and you're set. Took me about 15 mins start to finish on mine.

i heart your wheels

Thanks, they're my winter set up. there was a hella sale when I ordered snowtires so I couldn't pass them up.

MB Gear's, 17 x 7 +48 offset.

They'll be coming off though soon for the stockers unless I can find some sticky tires for them and convince the wife that I need to pay to have them mounted/dismounted each winter/spring. =D
