What don't you like about it? IIRC, that is the Advanced Composites hood with the functional scoop. They're quite rare actually.

i like the way it looks, don't get me wrong. but if you look inside the hole on the bottomside, theres a very small gap for the air to get through.

You mean in the intake? The size of the air passage really wouldn't matter as the amount of air going in still has to come out somehow - it would just be sped up upon it's exit. I would really love to see one of these in person.

Seems pretty functional to me. Can you show me another functional ram air hood for our car? Or another style hood that would be more functional?

i wouldn't necessarily call this a ram air hood more than a ram air "type" of hood. the msp would need a top mount intercooler or intake under the scoop for this to be functional. it's found on subarus and more functional on subarus because of their top mount intercoolers. this would work a lot better with the MS3's. But it is a nice looking hood.

So what is the difference between ram air and ram air "type"? And our intake is under the hole where the air is pushed through so it seems to be functional to me.

Intake under the hood like this? I think I'd benefit a decent amount using this hood.

Tweaking, I think you should sell your hood to Magnum since he understands the functional aspect of it.

that little hole isn't giving any more air to the filter or intake than what is already going into the engine bay through the large openings provided in the bumper. you're getting far more air through the grilles that could possibly deflect whatever waft of air will pass through that flat tunnel.

and here is a picture of dgm's "Functional Ram Air" hood which will pump in 10x the amount of air if you want ram air.

^^^ That also requires a special intake and will not work with any kind of F/I setup. You'd be surprised at the lack of moving air under the hood. Air cannot flow through the grill and therefore has to make it's way up from underneath or through the other various small holes. I'm not saying this would make a big difference but I do believe it's functional as it is bringing more air under the hood.

This is why you remove your stock intercooler and buy a DG CF grill, thus leaving a rather large hole for air to be blown directly into your engine bay -- and subsequently, get a SRI and position it so that the filter sits directly in the path of all that incoming air. ;)

Oh, and then buy a reverse-cowl CF hood so that all the heat over the turbo and exhaust manifold billows out while you're sitting at red lights, and you can oogle at it and think to yourself, "Oooooh pretty heat waves make things all wiiiiiiiiiggly!"

.. Or is that just me?

Wiggly things are very cool indeed!! We all have our opinions so there really isn't much point arguing. I think any hood with ventilation will help out more than one without it. I like my hood and got it for a better price than any of the other options so I'm happy. Tweaking, if you don't like yours there are plenty of people on this forum that would love to take it off your hands.

i agree, that any hood with ventilation will help out more than one without.

I really thought the whole purpose of a reverse cowl was to draw in outside air via circulations and all (won't get into aerodynamics here). I am considering either the reverse cowl or the scooped-hood in the future.
