I believe this car should have originally been fitted with the RX8 wheels

The 18x8 definitely creates a wider profile and the car is more planted on top of being a lighter combo.
The MS3 are too "tiny" for the power levels of this car. 18x7 +52 with 215... no way you call that a good amount of rubber
I have used these RX8 wheels pretty much since I got the car. The original stock wheels are immaculate in dark plastic bags in the garage. This means I have used these wheels for about 9K miles and have had NO issues whatsoever. I did a track event and 1 AX on them before I got my "track only" set.
Backspacing is not an issue, and even with 4 adults in the car with 1 set of wheels in the back + full tank of gas, I never rubbed...
Of course I plan on keeping my basic MS suspension, no drops or anything like that. Perhaps a set of sway bars but that's about it.
