cp-e standback issues installing

well i dont know if it was just mine but these instructions are pretty messed up. in one area where it says what goes to what it says one thing but then through the read instructions it had me connecting things to other wires. after i finished installing everything guess what, its not working. if anyone has a number to call that i could reach cp-e to talk about these instructions and get these voltages reading right id really apreciate it since they dont seem to be open today. ive double checked my wiring maybe 20 times now and through the instructions its right but on the diagram of what does what its wrong. id like to know which one is right as i think its pretty screwed up it reads that way in the first place. i paid 600$ for good quality yet the instructions seem to be half ass backwards.

ok. well after a grueling time fighting with my engine bay and making things clear everything is finally hooked up and running great. the standback system is really a great product and now that everything was cleared out (one part was sent wrong and will be sent back to me.) the electronics engineer i talked to there helped me out and helped me figure out what it was. other than that yes i didnt like the instructions completely but it was little things you probably wouldn't really notice unless things werent working right and u scanned every little detail as i did. other than that though this product really is amazing and i havnt even hooked it up to a computer yet. with a little bit of thought and home fabricating you can also mount this stuff into some really easily and protected areas. i mounted the switch and LED light into my dash on the blank button next to the traction control button. as for the processor i was able to make a z bracket and mount it onto my fuse box and it doesnt interfere with anything. i did drill a new hole through my firewall but it was because i was running things for gauges and other things and found a free spot that was safe right through the drivers side. all in all it all looks great and works even better. thanks cp-e.

thanks, i did have to extend the wires for the switch and make the bracket but i like how it all came out. i would like to eventually find a casing that will fit over the standback so that it looks a little cleaner and make it more protected. for now i might just paint the bracket and screws. the center pod isnt exactly what i wanted but i liked the style. hopefully someone will just make a whole unit so people dont have to cut into anything and glue or screw it on which makes it look a little sloppy.

Nice job man! I prefer to have it inside the cabin and hidden but yours looks great (cool) My dealer isn't the easiest to work with though so I have my reasons, lol

soldered. the installation would have only taken prolly 2-3 hours or so but my by-pass plug came unsoldered and you need it to run the tests before connecting the standback. i had it done the night before but had to wait till i had phone numbers and reasons why voltages were wrong and the car wasn't starting. so yea after 12 hours or so i was finally told to just plug the standback in and it worked fine and runs great now. hopefully within the next month i can get it tuned to get its full potential.

if i start up the car without giving it a second it does have a rough time. but if u give it a sec and wait till u hear a click(prolly the standback loading) starts up great and have no problems.
as for the gau1ge pod it does sorta suck, i like how the mold comes down with the gauges but they should made one with the vents on it so you dont have to cut. as for the cutting u can do it however you want but i cut out a rectangle and then used a dremmel to make notches for the part of the mold that holds the gauges as it goes down more. i used the silicone adhesive it came with but i think i should have picked up a better glue for it. it glued fine but the silicone they used was hard to mold with a finger swipe so it doesnt come out smooth around the edges. i might go with the dvd player dash that they sell for our car and just mount a gagues holder onto it as its a lot cleaner looking but it doesnt mold around the gauges which i liked about this one. theres plenty of stock covers on ebay in case one should want to mount the gauges elsewhere after installing one of these.
