My New Protege

Stock P5
Bought an '03 LX for $3500. Needs a new clutch which I have (old one from my P5) but it's very mechanically sound, and just needed a severe clean as you can see. Wondering on the price? It's a 2003 and look at the odometer... 244,000 Km's! But its not like I don't have enough parts sitting around to almost build a whole 'nuther Protege anyway, so it's good.

Gutted the ENTIRE car (headliner included) and cleaned everything. Pressure washed the car inside (even dash, but took all electronics out. ECU, HVAC, deck, gauge cluster) Pressure washed carpets, underlay, headliner, all plastics, and even power washed seats. Anyways, have a look. I have been offered $6K for it already, but I'm keeping it for my winter beater. Needs a windshield, and shift knob and the radio was ****** so I threw my stock P5 one in. COmpression checked at 160psi (:D) changed all fluids, checked brakes, tires, all that. It's good! :D

Enjoy the pics, before during and after.

Next time you come to Arizona you can clean our P5. LOL

what are your plans for this one?

Even though it's jsut an LX, it still came with the painted mirrors, door handles, black upper grill bar, etc that the ES's did in the US, so I think I'll just do an ES spoiler and CHMSL delete inside the car, (cause the wing comes with one.) Limo tint all around, change the clutch, put on the chrome muffler tip from my P5 stock muffler, 2 new hubcaps (might jsut rock some generic ones) and I dunno what else. It's a winter beater! :D

Skip the Hubcaps and pick up a set of used Miata wheels. The old-style 14's can be had for $100 a set, if you know where to look!

Oh, and the LX's came with all that in the U.S. too.

Let's turn this into a ******* race car! do it!! strip that whole thing, cage, seats, 5 points, and transfer your p5 motor into this thing. lighter + turbo = FASTAAAAAR

Nice car, good deal! You must be hyper active to take on a job like that....jeez with everything your going through these days. Not sure how you do it but nice job!

hey, i've got a white spoiler on my LX that will hopefully be coming off next week if i get my MP3 wing painted. Let me know if you want it for that car.

Nice! I need to get a winter beater and I was considering another Protege. Might as well, like you said, got enough parts around for 'em and know how to work on them :D
