New wheels are too big...

I wrecked my msp about a month ago, cracked all four rims and ruined the rear suspension. I had new brakes, suspension, and wheels put on the car. Unfortunately, I went with 18x8.5' rims, which somehow fit fine in the front but rub pretty bad in the rear. I put low profile tires on and it helped, but anytime i hit a bump it rubs and tears the tire up a little. I cant have people sit in the back without it rubbing constantly. All i need is about an inch higher in the back and it will be fine. I dont want to buy new struts because i just put new ones on there (they are the oem msp struts). I am wondering if i can find firmer springs for the struts to stiffin the ride and prevent any more rubbing. I have also considered trying to find a higher spindle. What are your suggestions on getting the rear raised. Buying new wheels or tires is not an option because i have done everything i can do concerning them, so i just need to find a way to adjust the suspension. http://www.drifzwheels.com/wheels.htm is the site with the rims on it. They are the 505GM Nos wheels. They have the stock offset.

First of all, your crash story kind of detracts from the question you're actually asking...

Secondly, what springs do you have now that aren't working?

Thirdly, what width are your wheels and what is your offset? You cannot compensate for those things w/ suspension unless you really jack the car up.

I'm sorry, I usually refrain from criticism on the forums...but it doesn't seem like you think things through very well. Glad to hear that you are ok, though.

Dosent matter with 8.5" wide you must roll your rear fenders. As well as shave a corner piece of the bumper off, unless you already did with all the rubbing already.

Those wheels obviously don't fit the rear at all.
Sell'em and get a properly sized wheel.

^^^ definitly, car looks really weid with those rims. Sell them and get another set

+1

You'd spend less selilng those and buying wheels that fit, than you would fuxorzing your suspension/handling/ride quality to try and raise the car up high enough to not rub...
