i finally got my rims back from the painter! they are mazda black mica. i had my calipers done first. hows it look?

my buddy is an auto body guy here in riverside, he has been asking me to do it for a while. the black lugs are rays racing, ebay 115.00.

Nice paint job, but I am not into painting stock rims. It kills resale value and looks ghetto. I may be biased since I live in the ghetto and assholes are always spray painting their rims next to other peoples cars. At least you got it done by a professional.

i agree, i would not have even thought of it if it wasnt for my buddy, he talked me into it. i like the stock style but hate silver. plus i saved about 800 dollars from not buying new rims. as far as resale goes, not too worried abut it yet! i love the car, so i will keep it for awhile and worry later.

Looks good. I like the black on black look. It's always been a favorite of mine. Someone with photoshop get some different colors going to see what something else would look like! Haha.

I like the look of the calipers, but since you asked for opinions, no I don't like the black on black with the rims. Chrome, or even polished aluminum looks better in my humble opinion. But again, the calipers look great!

That paint job looks pretty good, but still too much black for me. I bet leaving the front spokes silver would set it off and give a little more contrast... Just my opinion though. Way to go with saving yourself that loot....

Looks great, I was thinking of doing it too. Do you have any before with the calipers painted, I bet it makes them jump out more. I'm at least painting my calipers next week now for sure!
Clos-I did the red and black on my P5, and while I loved the rims, the black makes the car ... I don't know, darker, less red for some reason and I think the lighter color looks right. I don't know if I'd have the guts to paint em gold or bronze, but I bet it would look great.

he took the paint number from the door and a shop made the color, he said the paint was kind of pricey for only a pint pint.

no i dont have any befores, i did the calipers and he did the rims the next day. they didnt show that much until the rims were done.
