I blew my motor up. looks like this winter project will be a bit more the the fmic I did last year.

Damn, any specifics on what boost pressure you were running, when it happened, what happened?

just in second gear in traffic. happend quick all I remember is bang rattle rattle rattle etc then thick white smoke out of my hood. I have large holes in my block I think I broke 3 and 4. I have unichip so the boost was around 12psi

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. What would prevent our motor's from going boom? Would replacing the Rods help stop this?

this had nothing to do with mazda building it right. It was all me. I kept putting off tunning the unichip to my mods and never did so I was only running like 8-10 psi with the pressure drop from the fmic but unichip wasn't tunned. It was all my own abuse

it's going big this time I will keep a picture log of progress on this thread.

today I got a little time at work to pull the turbo and head off(fun fun). someone needs to shoot the engineers of this car.

but it interestingly unvailed the oh so big hole in the front of the motor, and made the 3rd hole visable. it's bad I need to post some pics. the hole was big enought to fit a pry bar up in the motor to get #3 piston out of the block.

DAmm you right thats why i trade my msp !! I didn't want to take any changes fo blowing my motor like i did blow my LSD and yeah i blew my motor after 2000miles like new then it changed and after that it was a pain in the ass so im happy i have my baby i have 4000k miles on it no problems at all, no hesitation and to clunks !!!

Ok this thread makes me nervous. I just bought a unichip and I cant afford to blow my motor. My mods are listed in my sig. Does this mean i have to go fork out more cash to get it tuned?
