does anyone know where i can find the lips for the sedan? i saw a member with the lips on and they look pretty bad ass... and im too cheap for a kit.

Perhaps, should PM them and ask. Mazdastuff was pretty good, free shipping, can't beat that. I've dealt with both on here and they're good guys. Kooldino (speedcircut) got me a heck of a deal on some parts, so I'd try him first. Could also try that new guy Montgomery Mazda who has their own forum, and he offers painting too.

I purchased mine through the local stealership, wound up being like $380 all said and done, lesson learned.

Good luck man, would love to see another protege rock the front lip!

onlinemazdaparts.com might be able to do it for you too. If you can get the part number it's easy to find their prices.

subbing for info, cuz i've been thinking about the lip kit.

Have you checked out the corksport bumper for the sedans? I've always thought that looked pretty good as well.

i used to have that lip...LOVED it but got the msp front end now... DiS has it on his car now. still kinda wish i had it sometimes.

Ive already asked Onlinemazdaparts.com about the rear sedan lip. He told me that it would cost $260.00 shipped to him, then to me. Im still waiting to see if I can get the rear lip I originally bought shipped to me before I buy a new one.

pics donny?

Here's a few pics I have kicking around, can take better ones if need be. There's also some in the owner's photos.

Yeah, 'adikts car was a lot of inspiration for me, the lip looked awesome on his car and I hadn't seen it on many others, so I went with it.

Hey now, what front grille is that? (pic 3). I know someone was making custom ones that retained the top grille strip but that looks like the OEM mesh in yours. It looks really nice :)

damn id also like to know this

It looks like their is just more OEM mesh covering the emblem, because you can see the emblem in the second pic behind the mesh

The second pic the emblum is not behind a second mesh its just apears blacked out, or the chrome part was removed only to leae the black plastic outline.

It looks like he dremeled the emblum out. Must of took time, but it looks very nice.

WOW, Good Job!!

Have you ever taken that emblem off? There is no way to dremel it out, without making it look retarded. The mesh wouldn't be uniform, and their would be a round black piece where the emblem used to be.

Hmmm, still no way its mesh over mesh.

I wonder how he did it or if he bought it somewhere.

Its tough to geuss

Thanks guys!

I shall answer your questions, yes it is a custom grill. I made it with reference to this how-to http://www.msprotege.com/forum/showthread.php?t=28751

Basically it is just a stock grill shell with a piece of lower grill mesh dremmeled and fitted in there. Took me a weekend of work, but it's pretty decent. I didn't have any way to paint it so I used vinyl to cover the shell and silver trim. Up close it isn't too terirbly appealing but you really can't notice. I plan on making another one or taking this one to when I raid the body shop and have them paint it.

These picsture were shot a few months between each other in #2 I did have it originally blacked out (back in april) and in number 3 was after I just finished the grill (june)

That's a very cool custom grille. I don't know which I like better, the way you have it or the autoexe replica with the lower grille mesh in it.
