if you purchased the one that fits the sedan you would have to have about 5 inches cut off between the exhaust and the tip.......

he got the one that was made for the P5.

Well when I got the car it had some generic muffler which was too loud and bad sounding, now its mellow but still got some good sound to it, not loud at all. Sounds sweet so far.

Thats what I did, I bought the stock one off someone with a sedan and had to cut the tip off to make it look normal.

pretty sure its the stock one, check my bucket for pics. It sounds friggen awesome IMO, I got the sport tronic so through 1st ans 2nd its great. On the highway you can only hear it over wind noise if you down shift, but it is noticible.

I also have the MazdaSpeed P5 axleback. It sounds perfect to me. Nice and deep and a little rumbly if you just tap the throttle, like when backing into a parking spot or something. I also have a CAI and they sound great together.

its a nice looking axle back, but the sound drove me crazy. It gets inside your head. Sometimes i had to roll my windows down to stop it from resonating.

Mine was installed correctly, not sure why it slowly drove me insane. It's neat to be able to hear the motor better though and the tip cleans up pretty good, better than the Apexi World Sport I had....:/

Some people complain about resonating, other don't. I personally have the same muffler and I don't hear a damn thing...
The rest of my exhaust is stock so maybe that's why.

It sound like a stock Eclipse GT, the 2000-up series and some of the other factory sport mufflers.

Like I said ... some complain about it, others think it sounds great. (enguard) I guess you just have to hear for yourself and be your own judge.

I like that, "be your own judge". That works for everybody no matter what others have done to their own cars. Do what you like to your own & just be glad you don't have to deal with what you don't like about what others have done to theirs & copy what you do like.
