thank you. good luck. its so much fun and you learn alot about your cars handling too. :]

ive got 15s on for the winter, they fit fine. You should get a cheap set of 15s with mint rubber and keep the 18s for daily driving. My winter rims with big winter only snow tires(crazy big treads) are still lighter than the 17" RH so I would imagine 18s would be a disaster for autoX. i wouldnt bother spending alot of money on rims, anything that isnt too heavy, put the money into the rubber on the rims. Did you adjust your the camber on the stock suspension? Might help you out, I know it makes it alot dartier and responcive, but not as good for traction in a straight line drag.

i havent done any suspension tuning.

Michele,
Good job. I have been running mine since I got it. Mine is stock except for the window tint and the Kumho MX tires I just put on it. I run in our local street tire class against a DS index.

I second the Evolution school. I used to road race and rally race but the Evo school really helps to focus your driving on autocrossing. If you get the chance, take Phase 1 and Phase 2 back to back on the same weekend. You will get lots of seat time with expert aurocrosser.

If you still have them, put the stock wheels and tires back on. I could be wrong but they are probably faster than your 18 inchers.

Most of all have fun.

thanks for the advice. your right about my rims, i wouldnt doubt theyre hurting me. but i dont have the stock rims. i bought it used with the konigs on it :/ im looking to buy some rims now, also with purchasing the falken azeni 225 RT-610

how do u like your kuhmo MX's. i looked at them but i am favoring the tread on the azeni's.

I like the MX's now that I have scrubbed them down some. I have a set Azenis 215's on the Miata and in the summer, they need lots of water to cool them. I have not run the Azenis 615's but a friend of mine says they don't over heat as bad as the 215's.

Great job! I bought our MSP for my wife to do some local autocrossing. We went to a Zoom Zoom live and when she did the timed event with the new MX-5 and the target time was 30 seconds, she was just slightly over that.

A professional driver, Stu Haymer, said that she should compete in autocrossing events, she has good instincts and a natural ability. I think when she sees this, it will even give her more incentive to compete.

Again, great job, looking forward to seeing you get better results and kicking the boys butt!

i havent done any suspension tuning.

might wanna look into it, basically free minus the alignment and people wont even know its dialed ince its still the stock suspension. Should work good in autoX. theres a how to around the board somewhere..

Alignment specs are going to vary a little depending on preference and other modifications. I would love to hear about how the car reacts to your driving. Understeer, oversteer, and if it does certain things at certain times like off throttle, on throttle, mid corner turn in...that sort of stuff. If we can nail that stuff down we might be able to save you the money it took me to dial everything in since it won't be so much trial and error.

i take it back. there was another MSP there at autocross and when looking at its suspension i saw that he had red springs. i actaully have blue ones. i have no idea what kind they are since i bought my car used. but i finally know the answer to the question if my car is lowered or not. i never knew and people would always ask. if any one know what kind of spring these might be, please let me know,

haha thanks alot. i was actually disappointed at my results. but it was truely a hard tight course, very challenging. i had knocked 2 seconds off my original time, but stil wasn't truely happy about my final time. but its alright, we all have our good days and our bad days.

i also spoke to some of the organizors of our SCCA and they advise me to run in the ladies groups. i dont like the idea because there is no competition out her in my class but htey say it will help with points and nationally. i might take it into consideration. but i do enjoy competing against the guys, plus i think it shows potential and character.
