Couple of us daredevils took a borrowed plane up for the day on Tuesday to get some pictures of VIR from the air. These things turned out a lot better than I expected.

I was just there on Oct 29th. I even got to take my P5 around the track for a $20 donation to Ronald McDonald house! It was awesome. I may start working at the track next year! Nice pics.

I missed a downshift on my motorcycle going through Oak Tree 2 years ago and wound up in the grass on the outside of the straight. I took the first kink into Oak Tree in 3rd and then downshifted to second right as I made the sharp turn-in under the tree so that the back end would slide (I was riding a Super Motard so sliding into and out of the sharp corners were about the only fun I could have since I was getting ***** on the straights) and I would square the corner off and come out full throttle in second and bump the outer rumble strip and onto the straight. I could get a massive drive up the straight. I out braked a 748 going into the kink and I was so caught up in the moment that I forgot to downshift so the back didn't come out and I went wide. It was about an 8 out of 10 on the pucker scale.

Wesman, is that Road Atlanta or Mosport in your sig? It sure does look like a shot down the front straight at RA, though Mosport would seem a lot more logical since you're in Ontario. If it is RA, when did you do a track day there?

That's Road Atlanta. I did a weekend with the Panoz racing school there Aug 2004. Its in the top three of my fav tracks days period.

I've never seen anyone using it. i'm not really sure what they are doing with it. I think they may have rally driving schools for it, but the website doesn't say anything.
