Hey guys, I heard from Juan and he said that my Hiboost FMIC should be here on Friday (alright) . So i was thinking of starting the teardown Today. I have never took my bumber off, so i dont know if it will be a pain. Let me know if there are any tricks to getting it off. If any of you guys have some spare time to help out it would be appreciated. (mp3blue)

man you REALLY need to search. There are install threads around here for the HiBoost, and there is a thread that talks about taking the bumper off. Good luck, but I am not going to search for those threads for you. It takes too damn long to describe.

We just took Chris's bumper off of his MSP on Saturday when you stopped by. It takes about 20 minutes, and I actually did a search under "how to remove 03.5 lip" and got the answers. It tells you how to remove the bumper, then the lip, but had pretty clear directions. I know its about 12 screws/clips in all if i remember right - 3 in each inner fender, 4 underneath, 2 on each side inside the bumper, and some other ones as well, then just lift up and pull out.

Just an FYI when I installed mine the pipe coming from the throttle body with the bov on it can be put on the wrong way. the guy who had mine on before I got it had it on upside down. no saying any names though. Yeah if you can go ahead and break it down early it will go smoother when th FMIC comes in. If your like me you will want it on as quick as possible. If you have any questions while installing it just email me at benwatson@clearchannel.com.

Lol, I told this guy to search about 2 or 3 times already...

Well i got the bumper off, as well as the stock IC, and all the hoses. I took maybe a hour or so. But Joker, i remember that your grill insert broke right? Well you can have mine if you want it, i was careful not to brake it when i took it off.

I helped TX Speed Demon with the install of his HiBoost FMIC. I'll see if he would like to lend some advice.

be carful with the clips that hold the bumper to the headlight,it's easy to break the clip,ir distort the piece of the bumper that goes into the clip.

Here's how you take it off (make sure to wear safety goggles):

seriously though: diddo on wicked's words of wisdom. I snapped one of mine off during install, but thank god it has another still in tact on that side. Otherwise, the bumper would no longer be flush with the rest of the front end pieces around it.

Sounds like you're at a stopping point till the parts come in. Post up here and send me a PM if you have any questions. Linux and I got my old stuff out and the new stuff in, in about 6 hours. My only suggestion is to layout all the pipes on the floor exactly as they should be installed, including the couplers which are different sizes, to make sure you don't install the worng pipe or the correct pipe in the wrong way. It will make installing it on your car much easier.

Yea, its not coming till Monday (argh) . So my car will just sit in the garage all weekend. I did cut the remaining tabs that were showing after i took the lower grill insert off, but thats about it. Oh, were you in dearborn today? i was driving a work vehicle up oakwood heading toward Michigan, and i thought i saw a car that looked like yours going the opposite way. Anyways i talk to you later.

damn thats a shame. You didn't see me up in Dearborn yesterday. I know of another guy that lives up there that sometimes posts on the board, but he hasn't been on lately.

The HIboost is here!! So i will be leaving form work, and starting to hook it up. I hope is goes in as easy as everyone says. One i get it all in, i will post pictures of it. (boobs)

Well i got it all installed yesterday. I was pretty easy, but after i took it out i blew one hose off. Then i tightend them and went out again, and blew the hose thats behind my bumper that connects in front of the radiator. The problem is there is a 3.5in gap between the pipes, and i'm supposed to use a 4in hose. It won't hold since i dont have enough to clamp on. So i will be getting another longer hose from somewhere. So i havent been able to enjoy it yet. Here are some pics, sorry that they are crappy. I used my phone.
