Homemade urethane inserts!!!

Well, I had some Devcon Flexane 80 shore lying around for over a year now and I finally got a chance to do my mounts. I spent $15 for a pound of this stuff and I would say that 1lb is just enough to do eight mounts (yeah, I had a lot of waste). Unfortunately, I got a good deal on this stuff, it is normally about $40-50. I blue-taped up one side of the mounts and then poured in the other side. This might be how Turfburn does his, I don't know...(Don't worry Steve, I'm not selling these!) :)
You can see how the urethane perfectly matches the stock rubber when I remove the tape. Where there is no tape, it is nice and shiny! Enjoy!

NICE! I think ill try that, id get steves but i cant afford the core charge. woot.

Same thing I did with mine only I used some 80 durometer polyurethane from work that we sell for seismic cable repair splice kits called FM-103. I just did the front when I replaced my tranny last week. I didn't do the left since it is a little more firm than the others were. Absolutely no wheel hop!

I spent $10 on window weld at advance autoparts. The mounts still flex more than I'd like but it was worth $10 and the hours I spent working on it.

No big deal man :). I save people all the hassle and mess and have done it.. that's the only reason for the service... and I hate the core charge too... but I have to protect myself from someone deciding they want a "free" motor mount... I also use some different compounds (cures in like 2 hours)... to make it easier. I'm improving the process right now, and trying to lower the prices too... but yep that's roughly how you do it.. trick is all in getting things clean and trying to prevent leaks everywhere from the thing fluids.

I also used the window weld. Then I just got AWR mounts...The window weld works OK.

It's a little too soft, takes too long to cure, and you don't get great adhesion urethane casting compounds are better.
