I'll most likely be the only female there with a Mazda, heh.

And DiS -- you need to get the video of the psychotic truck driver posted ASAP. :D

aww, thats probably will be true that you will be the only gurl with Mazda. Who wouldnt want to hang around great lookin' MSP, when such a beautiful gurl represents it, hehe.

As far as the truck, I taped only the moment when that idiot was passing us in emergency lane.....camera didnt turn on on time, heh.

Saturday update:
Lots of waiting in line to be judged
rain on and off. :(

yea bummer. spent like 3 damn hours in freaking line to get judged, and about 40 minutes cleaning off the rain drops of the car whilebeing in line....looking forward to tomorrow.

area over here is kinda lame....all the bars and clubs close down at 2am....

Posted some pics of the show for those who couldn't make it but would like to see some of what happened. Not the best show I've been to. There were a bunch of cars. Of the 7 or so burnout cars 2 of them couldn't even do a burnout and you could tell the stunt bike people were playing it safe. Needed more entertainment & interactivity for a big car show. Oh and the bikini contest wasn't all that. #5 should have won the audience sucks.

Anyone get good pics of the burnout & bikini contest?

Here's a link to pics:
Modified Madness (M2) 2005

The club night life at Penn State is kinda lacking.

Eh, this also isn't one of the huge, major car shows. I thought it was a decent showing, and I had a good time. But yeah, there wasn't much in way of entertainment -- the burnout contest was the closest I ever got to being amused (other than walkin' around and lookin' at the rides), and it wasn't all that impressive. I did kinda enjoy that one dude destroying his Mustang, though.

Bikini contest? .. I'm a female, so I have no response to that. I didn't even see it. But Kooldino told me he thought it was bad, too.

And you're lucky there's night life at Penn State PERIOD. Dude, you're out in the middle of ******' nowhere in Pennsylvania. Drive five minutes outside of the downtown/campus area -- and there's NOTHING around. Just keep that in mind, and be happy there's more than one bar within a ten mile radius. ;)

But yeah, the show was decent, like I said. I enjoyed myself. And I'll post the pics I got there this evening, when I'm back in NJ and have the cable to transfer the images from my camera to my laptop.

Carlisle? These shows are huge. They normally draw 40K people and have thousands of cars on show. This year wasn't the same though, I'll say that much.

Dude, it was a gaytarded clusterfuck. It's a shame too, because there were some hot girls in it.

How'd the people do that had their cars judged? Any mazda winners?

Hmmm ... I guess you're talking about the guys they had surrounding the stage for no good reason. It would have made more sense to have the girls come out individually instead of throwing them all out there at once.

It does kinda suck for the females in the crowd though.

.. Teaser pic till KD and DiS and I get all our images organized. :D

I ended up not going because the people that were supposed to ride with me backed out at the last moment. However, I did talk to some people that said in a nut shell "the show was lame." It wasn't at all like the the show two years ago in Carlisle. I wish I could have attended but they said that I didn't miss much. Grrrrrrr..............

Well, FWIW, the show 2 years ago was the best I've ever been to. Those are big shoes to fill.

Last year was better than this year too.

I wouldn't call this show lame, since I had a good time, but it definitely didn't live up to the past few. It would have been a lot more enjoyable if...

1-They didn't have GHEY ass "drive through judging"
2-They ran the beauty contest in a normal fashion
3-If the turnout was as good as it normally was (I think the new "in the middle of bumblefuck" location made the turnout smaller (yet still pretty big)
4-If they grouped the cars together on the showfield like they normally did (by make/model)

I'm no expert on car shows, but .. I have t'agree with everyone that this wasn't as big and impressive as I expected it to be. And the location definitely didn't help; havin' all that in the middle of nowhere in central PA was just .. stupid.

But for me, the most aggrevating thing was how completely and totally disorganized everything was. Dude, KD and DiS and I spent a solid hour just trying to figure out where the **** to go to get onto the showfield. Every single event person told me something different, and I was so pissed by the time we actually got in that I just parked with little thought as to who I was parking near -- I wound up next to a random Saturn, for s***'s sake.

I'm gonna keep my fingers crossed that they go back to either an old location, or a more populated one (as in Philly, New York, etc.), next year. And that they get their asses in gear as far as how the show is run. They should've had segregated sections -- break up the show fields by judged versus non-judged, and then split those up by at LEAST make.

That is all.

Sorry I missed you guys...Funny enough, as Dana knows, I was in Cape May NJ for a wedding...that was planned only weeks ago...

But from what I heard around town so far, it wasn't that great...not awful, but not great...I wish I could have met up with you guys, but thanks to the 76 west bypass in philly, I had an extended vacation away from town...

and bar wise where did you guys go?...Realize we have trendy bars...not good bars...stupid pointless covers everywhere, and rarely any good specials (or good beer for that matter)...there are over 10 bars downtown alone, so its hard for any group of moderately cool people to even run into each other...I hoped it would have been better for you "outsiders" night life wise, being that most students are gone which leaves the bars pretty empty...but the last couple times I went out it has sucked big time...

oh well...If they have it here next year, we can throw a huge party at my place...**** the bars...

Oh yeah, I totally forgot about that. s***. Yeah, add that to my list of complaints.

I want them to bring it back to Carlisle. Those were ******* AWESOME.

That's what they used to do. Now they're retarded.

with the amount of problems they had the last 2 years, i heard they moved it someplace that knew how to deal with disorderly and drunken youth. it was cool to see a couple of pro's at the show and meet a couple of people.

judging was a joke. sunday morning they didn't have any winners for 4 door mild mazda. i complained to the judges and they said their wern't enough cars for awards. i told them that was bs, even if only 1 car was in the class they should give an award to his sorry ass for even showing up. they fixed it later and claimed that they had grouped everyone in the wild category by mistake. they then told me i finished 4th in mild behind a pair of 6's and some other car. i didn't see what it was. the judge barely looked at my car and didn't ask but 1 or 2 questions before telling me i was done. i guess my car wasn't 'mild' enough for their tastes. oh well, i had fun either way.

gooch

I havent been to Carlisle before, and as Kooldino said it could of been better if they had a different location, although I liked it. Few people doing donuts on the grass, Ford SVT Lightning doing 2 burnouts in a row and being kicked out right away hehehe (got it all on tape)

Speaking of which, I have about 2 hours and 30 minutes of video footage, so right now Im starting to work on editing the video. Video will be available within 2-3 weeks deppending on my load at work, heh. Stay tunned for the videos.

Kooldino......"?BACK TO NJ?" EHEHEHEHEHEH

yea man. Unreal. Judging part was weird s***. Kooldino took 3rd place. Some fat chick in a mazda6 took 1st place. All she had was body kit and wheels.....HOW THE HELL DID SHE OUT BEAT Kooldino's built motor!??!? I got no freaking clue. Dunno who took 2nd place though.....Next year Im bringing my baby.....and by then Ill be boosted

I just remembered something else, in regards t'how crappy the judging was ..

KD and DiS and myself had t'stop to get gas before leaving State College on Sunday. I pulled up to one of the pumps, and on the opposite side of it was a Civic with about five of the so-called judges. I got outta my car and started to pump my gas and whatnot, and a few came over to talk to me. They were makin' comments about the fact that I was female, asked me some stuff about my car, and then one of them said, "s***, you should've gone judged, you're a lot better than that chick with the 6."

And 'that chick with the 6' is the one that took the Mazda category .. or at least, that's what I was told.

But THAT's some horseshit for you. That just because I happen to be a female and have a bunch of carbon fiber on a MSP with a few engine modifications, that the judges would place me over someone (such as KD) who's invested a ton of time and money and effort in his engine bay. Pfft.

That's exactly why they did it.

I think that "other car" was mine. I got 3rd in 4 door Mazdas.

I saw the 2nd place Mazda 6. It was driven by a fat chick with rims and a grill. OOOh. I can't ******* believe that beat me. Or you, for that matter.
