All the ebay intakes I've seen don't look like this, this one has a place to mount the purge valve and it bolts right onto the engine

Closest one I've come to is something like this but it looks like it bolts onto the body, I want one that is secured on the engine

damn cap'n you know your sh!t!! that was a quick reply.. you just forgot to put it in the form of a question (jeopardy style!)

i say get the cold air intake from ebay. i bought one of their no name ones and it fit perfectly. Exactly like AEM of Injen just without the sticker.

Its not that, I'm actually going from brand name cai to ebay sri, I thought the K&Ns filter sat where the stock coolant reservior was, guess not. Thanks for the quick replys tho!

my 2 cents if anyone is interested. (boom07)

im gonna shorten my injen cai. gonna take off the extension, and put on an Apexi power filter w/ 70mm flange directly to the maf. good times!

How and to where are you going to secure it?

ooh ooh..I wanna play..

How about this one... I have no clue what kind this is.

Oh yeah, and today I found a hose clamp in my driveway and thought, hey that looks familiar. I then opened my hood and the damn filter to my intake had shaken loose. I looked at it Sunday night, so between now and then, I was sucking pure unfiltered Alabama air. I hope it didn't mess anything up...

Anyhow, here's the pics of the unknown intake...

Replying to my own post... Now that I have seen the ebay intakes, I am thinking that is what I have. I was hoping for a little more prestige. heh. Oh well...

I got a crazy idea, evryone knows that big air box that sits over the radiator. now what if I took that off and just used one of those ebay intake tubes and piped it to the stock location. (huh) If i havent confused the hell outta you holla back.

If you mean something like this then sure

P.S. I don't think it's the K&N, I've also attached a pic of it to show the difference

looks as though you are right - the red tint and tell tale bracket in the first pic threw me off

So the search continues...

I know I got the pic off this site, but I can't find the original thread

That's the AEM SRI for 02 Protege 2.0 Automatic. Part # is 22-480R(RED).
If you look closely at the end of the filter, you will see the AEM logo.

would it be possible to put a k & n cai or any cai in an automatic p5 cause the coolant water stuff is in the way, also I have a ractive sri, would it be cost effective to go with a k & n cai for hp difference? or would I be better off keeping what I have?
