Well, here are a few pics of what I started today. I still need to add about 5 or 6 more layers of fiberglass, but it was nice to get the worst part over with (and my car doesn't smell that much like resin since I had all my doors and windows open). Take a look at the sketch I made of what it will end up looking like form the front. It will be two compartments, one for my Kicker Solobaric S10L5, and one for a lighted kicker logo (only the logo will light up). Although I already have a fiberglass sub box, I decided I wanted to try to make a nicer one. I'm planning the cover it in black suede when it is all finished. I'm going for a very clean look.

Let me know what you think so far! I can still easily change the design at this point!

why the tin foil? is that for easy install and removal? i am hopefully going to start my glass progect this weekend and thought i did a lot of research but had never seen/heard of tin foil.... does it peel off easy? does it really matter if it doesn't?

Tin foil is just a really easy way to protect the car so resin doesn't stick to it. It comes off pretty easily, but some parts can be difficult to remove. I dont think it matters if it's on there if you can't see it, but I'll probably remove it after I add a few more layers on.

WOW that brings back memories seeing a lsrblue 5 hatch coated in tape and such...

looks good. is that box gonna be huge for the sub? howfar will it stick out? and you're just doing an illuminated kicker sign thing infront? no amp or anything? I always thought that'd be a nice amprack spot. perhaps guts of an amp under plexi with a logo etched intoit with ledlighting???

not quite grasping the full concept. I guess, looks good sofar though.. Also, tsunami, a tip for popping your mold back out.. get something like nylong belt material or somethingorother and leave ends on eitherside, or even jsut rope, run it behind there, and then you can use it to yank o when you go to "pop" your mold. makes life WAY easier. popping molds out SUCKS...

I can't mount the amp on it, because my amp is too big to fit. I tried putting i on the wall of the trunk over there before and it just wasn't gonna fit right. I relocated my amp the other day to under the dirvers seat, so it's a nice clean install.
