I have an autometer EGT. Now that I have it, I will have to say it is a POS. Very sluggish. Terry tried to warn me, but he never really explained why I shouldn't get it, just that he didn't like it. The thing is so slow to respond that it isn't useful for taking readings at WOT or under boost. I run about 1100 F when cruising and maybe 800 in town. Nothing too major. My understanding is that I could expect up to 1300 F or something as being normal, but I think I'm running rich.
As for its location, you can see that in the following picture. It is directly behind the O2 sensor and about 1-2 inches from the outlet of the turbo.
Yeah thanx, I have been warned about ANY Autometer Gauges....so i will be getting a Greddy EGT with the chip and warning light.
