I have an autometer EGT. Now that I have it, I will have to say it is a POS. Very sluggish. Terry tried to warn me, but he never really explained why I shouldn't get it, just that he didn't like it. The thing is so slow to respond that it isn't useful for taking readings at WOT or under boost. I run about 1100 F when cruising and maybe 800 in town. Nothing too major. My understanding is that I could expect up to 1300 F or something as being normal, but I think I'm running rich.

As for its location, you can see that in the following picture. It is directly behind the O2 sensor and about 1-2 inches from the outlet of the turbo.

Yeah thanx, I have been warned about ANY Autometer Gauges....so i will be getting a Greddy EGT with the chip and warning light.

It's not the GAUGE that's bad it's the lazy probe it comes with. Go buy a $30 greddy EGT probe and wire it to your Autometer gauge. I know someone who has done that and was very happy with the results.

Smirnoff Ice is the Shiznit!

I think I've had up to 12 cases of that crap in my garage. I used to buy a bunch went I visited my brother in Wisconsin as they didn't sell that stuff in Illinois until this year.

Funny you notice that. I kind of laughed when I saw that was in the background. It wasn't the motherload though, just a sample.

I like my beer. . .or in this case, malt liquor. :)

Herarety, sorry for the delay.
I'm guessing you were looking for placement, here's a "close up" at night, not the best picture, but I think it shows what you're looking for.

Kill the plates, and you're set! (thumb)

Yeah I want to remove that, but it is against the law in Illinois. Yes, I'm probably the only person that got pulled over for that last year. I took it off when I first got the car and then BOOM pulled over for just that. Slow day for the highway patrol. So, I'm a little paranoid, but maybe I should try again!

Yeah, it's against the law here too in Texas. I only got hassled once on my way to Houston one day.
