Why does Sport Car manfacturers feel or think they need to start selling 4 door sedans and SUVs? I think Porsche should be developing a small entry level sports car to compete with the Mazda Miata, Honda S2000, Nissan 350z, Saturn Sky, Pontiac Solstce, VW roadster. Instead of a slow selling large lux barge. Porsche should just leave that market to its cousins Audi, VW, and Maserati.

I compared it with the Cayenne because it's another Porsche bold move of going away from their typical 2 seaters. I think it's going to sell because high performance sedans are very hot right now (BMW M5, Benz CLS*AMG?*, etc.).

Just to nitpick, the 911 is a 2+2 (four seats). The rear seats only really work for small children and cheaper insurance. I agree with your other points though.
