talk about different... (thumb)

Can someone post me a link of the fiber image's hood? I wanna see it and see the price.

I should have some pictures of my car in the next few days with a Fiber Images hood. The only thing that I don't like about the FI hood is that there is ONE section of thread (actually just one thread, about 1.5" long thats out of place. I've asked like 20 other people to see if they could find it, but not a single one has. I'm the only onw who notices or cares about it, but I still wouldn't tade my Fiber Images hood for any other brand.

vindication, I dont get the point of having a CF hood if it still has a full underbrace thing. That must weigh as much or damn near as much as stock. If you get carbon fiber, get carbon fiber. Not half carbon fiber/ half fiberglass or metal or whatever that is

the thing is, a full cf hood will be around or over $1k. also, I'm not sure as to what kinda frame is used in the gemini hood. but i'll asked cause it never actually crossed my mind. there are only like 2 hoods that come full cf that are available for us i think. If you know more please tell me and how much they are. The gemini hood weighs 15lbs, that is a lot less than the OEM(i think, cant recall weight of OEM but isn't less than 30lbs)

my fiber images evo hood is a fiberglass underframe. it is still light as hell and still has the vents which is the important part :)

I have a black car and black vented CF hood. its pretty cool, because from a distance / certain angles you cant tell its CF. i wash and wax mine all the time (well...not in winter... :( ) and it just looks dope when its clean and shiney and ... i want it to be spring damnit!
**** spring. Summer is where it's at!

I think that OEM-style CF hoods w/ the sides painted to match are the best. To top it off, get a DGM CF grill.

I want to get my car painted a pearl white (like on some lexus's or cadillacs) and get a CF hood and some gunmetal rims. That would look awesome.

To those of you who have DGM CF hood, did you have any problems with it not fitting? I got mine two days ago, put in on the P5, and it doesn't lay flat on the driver side or above the center grille. I'm just wondering if mine is defective or if there may be a solution to this problem.

Here are photos. :(

(PICS REMOVED)

There may be X's for some photos, but they all work when I tested them.

I've heard DGM has great customer service, so I'm hoping to get this resolved as quick and painless as possible.

On a plus note, I did get some things accomplished. Changed oil, oil filter, spark plugs, cleaned CAI filter, and installed the OBX header. Helped keep my mine off the hood I suppose.

Hmmm...my fittament for my DGM hood is a little off...but not that noticably off. It almost looks as if the hood isn't in the locked position. I'm sure the DGM would be able to help you out...you have to pics to prove it. Good luck.

I suppose you're right, and now that I think about it my hood does have a small metal frame around the outside edge of the hood, but it still weighs 5.5 lbs, so I'm happy :D

Onatrum, suck to hear that man. My hood is a little short of th headlights too compared to stock, but it's not that bad or uneven from side to side. Keep us posted on how that works out for you.

mine fits good, just have to move corner panels in a little, but hood lays flat!

Yea, from the small input I've gotten from DGM hood owners, there seems to be no issues with fitment. I talked to someone from DGM today, and he wasn't real sure why it wouldn't fit. Since I don't have the hood here where I live (1.5 hour drive to hometown), I told him I would go home this coming weekend and test fit it again and see if there isn't something else I can do to 'make' it fit. The hood looks great, I'd really hate to have to ship it back and wait for another one.

If somebody wants to do me a favor and check something in the engine bay, it would help me out somewhat. There seems to be some metal pipe along the driverside that has insulation, and the cf hood seems to be coming down on it. I'd assume the everybody has this pipe since it's part of the car...but can someone look at the pic below and look at their car and see if there are any differences? I'd appreciate any help I can get.

That's there on all of em, but the hood shouldn't be getting anywhere near it. It should be recessed under the metal lip to the right of it in the pic. That's where the hood it supposed to make contact with the car if it does at all.

Just to clarify, do you mean the pipe thingy should be recessed under the lip, or that the pipe is fine and the hood should not be hitting that pipe.

And I got a reply back from DGM. The protege they have does not have this metal pipe. He said he would show my picture to the owner and see if there is a solution.

And a couple things to Jspec...1) I feel I jacked your thread so I apologize for that! And 2) Since you're from Cleveland, we should meet up sometime! (burnout)

Well, I'm not sure what I meant to say in that post, but mine is exactly the same, as is every other p5 I've seen that I can remember. Maybe it's different in the 02's and the 03's?

Anyway, mine is the same and my hood (fiber images) fits fine.
