Well it's all done!!! Turbo upgrades posted earlier in FI and Apex DP and Greddy SP2 and AWR front motor mount are INSTALLED!!!

Car jumped from 5.5 to 7 -7.5 psi and is fast as hell when the clutch doesn't slip.

I'll have a post asking about that in a minute!

Greddy is a DEEP tone like my old 2.5 thermal R&D and is very very nice. Some rattle on the doen pipe on the subframe in the front but fixable. The front motor mount isn't to bad at all either ( vibration that is).

I'll get pics and stuf after i wash my damn car and a better review of upgrades tomorrow when I have a chance to really test drive it!

Droning is when your in a gear at high RPM's, and not stepping on the gas i believe, the sound from that. Just your exhaust's sound without stepping on the gas... i think? lol. So it helped a lot??? you sure it wasn't ur downpipe man?

well i went from stock to DP and Cat back at once so it alll helped tremediously!

I got it from Apex motor sports which is a yahoo shopping store. I did a search for Apex DP for MSP in Google or a Greddy SP2 or thermal R&D and it came up in the Google listings. I got both the SP2 and DP from Apex.

look for the yahoo link when searching and thats them

I put my Greddy SP2 on before I put on the APex downpipe. The car pulled harder and the acceleration was smoother. All in all the combination of a downpipe and exhaust will yeild roughly 8-10 hp and some additional torque. I am more than satisfied with my purchase.

Congrats on the new mods! Enjoy.

where's the pictures?

hey im not trying to dog anything, just trying to find some facts:

some ppl say that on dynos, its been proven that the SP2 yielded no gains?? are you guys positive there are gains, or are the gains a 'placebo effect'?

well, its been awhile and I went a different route, got in on a group buy from ETD racing on their Vibrant 3" S-pipe back. The DP starts as 2.5" for about 8" in length then flares out to 3" the rest of ythe way with a 4" tip. heres pics of it, just came today so its not on the car yet. I'll put some installs on later and it gave 22whp gain with the prototype they put on some guy in Canada's MSP.

(smash) Greddy bashers! I would like to see dyno runs on a stock car to show 22 hp gains? I suspect other mods are involved to yield that much, as its just not the norm for exhaust system upgrade, without changing out the factory s-pipe.

Bottom line to me is that any upgrade in exhaust will be a welcome improvement over the dual catalyst OEM setup.

I am not bashing Greddy, I was about two days away from ordering a SP2 myself and and then a Apex Dp to go with it, but I found a good deal on a GB for this new exhaust that is DP, highflow cat, and canister muffler, it starts at 2.5 inches then expands to 3 inches, obviously the object is to releive back pressure, but the s-pipe is such a pain in the ass for not that much gain. Look at 505zoom. His car put down 250whp and 250wtq and he has the stock s-pipe. While ideally you want less back pressure, you have to take into account how much of a pain in the ass it is to change out the s-pipe, and the dollar to horsepower gain. The GHL exhaust is $400 more. You could put that money towards and smic/fmic and get more power out of it than replacing the s-pipe. If you're going for 300+whp I'd replace the s-pipe, but realistically I'm shooting between 200-250 for now, so it's not that big of a deal. Maybe later and I strengthen my internals I'll change the s-pipe. The guy that has the prototype of my exact exhaust had a 22whp gain from this exhaust, I haven't gotten mine on yet so I can't verify that, his name is Wesman II. So please don't think I am bashing a product that I like, I trust Greddy and a lot of my friends that do too.
