I saw one of the new 2005 Mustang GTs yesterday at the dealer...

AGR

It wasn't for sale. (chair) It had 17" wheels. But; it really needs 18"s. But; it looked quiet good. I am one of the people that loved the 1965-1968 bodied Mustangs. And; this is a combination of those years.

The GT is 300hp. And; Ford is claiming $25,000. Of course; it doesn't have IRS.

Have you had the chance to drive one? Obviously; I am quite interested in driving one when I get the chance. 10 minutes behind the wheel, and I will know if it's a car I really want in my garage. Supposedly; IRS will be on the new SVT, and later on the GT. It's not there now, because they wanted to keep costs down. Still; that is unacceptable to me.

This is what I want to see in my driveway.

Yes. I didn't like it. the acceleration was on the lines of the srt4 from a roll. handling wise forget it, my mom's prizm is better.

then again I don't like big cars so i'm biased

I understand completely. And; I am not a bit surprised. Maybe when the IRS is offered (and the price escalates), I will like it. Ha!

ya i think there was way too much body roll. but i love the way it looks on the outside and the inside..

yeah, I still hate it. The car just looks like it's sad, and knows it's ugly. And the older stangs are faster from what I have been told

But, if they ever do something like a Boss version of it....bring it on. Think elanor from gone in 60 seconds and update it to this. That's the only style from that era that I even half like.

ha, i saw 3 of them in the FAU parking garage the other day dime, i didn't see that one though. Where were you parked, 4th floor. I never go higher than the 3rd. Oh, and Greg, I have driven one already, it was an automatic though, but it is definitely a nice car. Nice power, the interior looks really nice, the seats are comfortable. I am waiting for a stick one, and I am sure I will drive one soon. Benefits of valeting cars in South Florida, the second a car comes out everyone has one down here. The brakes on the new stang are also very responsive. Just remembered that. I would love to own one...

older stangs are faster? which ones? the gt comes with 300HP and does 0-60 in less than 5 seconds.

I don't know man, maybe I was told wrong, maybe they were comparing the mach to a gt?? I don't really give a s***. That's not how I judge a car. Who's faster then who, bla bla bla. I haven't read anything about the new stangs, and I don't really care to

The car is just not my taste. I don't like the looks of the front, back or sides of it, and the wheels are s*** too. Top that off with the fact that it's a Ford, and I have no interest whatsoever. no doubt it'll kick it'll kick my ass in a straight line any day of the week perhaps, but like Isaid, that doesn't matter to me. I've grown past that.

I love the way they look but for that money Ford should have not used suspension technology that is more than 20 years old.

yeah, I saw one on the road and almost had an accident...They looks MUCH better in person than in pics IMO

90% of the mustang owners do not car about independent rear suspension because they are not as conducive to burnouts. marketing reasearch from ford led them to that conclusion, so beyond what AGR was saying about cost, ford is not going to alienate thier primary market or change the car from what it is simply because it sells well being what it is
