HEy hey guys
Today i found a 1994 Porsche 968. 4 cylinder turbo putting 249 horse at the rear wheels. I feel in love with it the moment i saw it so now i'm selling my Red 03.5 PR5. It has 19,000 miles and it's in excellent cond. I'm not sure how much to put it up for because it comes with a yakima snowboarding rack and a $1500 system i just put in it. Blue book on it said 13,000 without the system and rack. SO what do you all think i can get out of it???
Thanks-B

Have you driven it yet? I also looked at a '94 968... very nice looking car, but I didn't care much for the way it drove or the seating position. truth be told, i'd actually rather drive a 2nd Generation MR2 (recently sold mine ... MUCH cheaper and easier to get parts for) or even my Protege MP3.

If you haven't spent some quality seat time in the Porsche and you're not sure if you'll like it, I strongly suggest you do so. and this is from one of Porsche's biggest enthusiasts :( (Another suggestion is a Boxster with a few miles on it... at least you'll be able to easily find parts for it... paying for them is another story).

my uncle has the exact car with a few more miles on it. This one onle has 59,000, and I like it a lot. As much as i love my P5, it just can't compare. But i do appriciate the concern. But any idea on what to put the P5 up for??

glad that you found such a low mile example. I'm sure you'll love it ;)

As for pricing, I think you'll probably be better off taking the system out and using it in your Porsche, if possible. the one I looked at had a very nice stereo and I liked it alot... but I didn't value it at more than $500... and like you, the owner paid about $1500 for it. That and sometimes buyers are intimidated by modifications... even stereos... Like it means your a juvenile punk who doesn't take care of their car or something. Snowboarding rack, if it looks cool, might be easier to leave on. As for asking price, I'd offer it for $12,500 and be happy with $11,500... without the stereo of course. With the new Mazda 3 out, I personally think it'll be hard to sell a Protege5 for full value. Unless you know somebody that just has to have one... the used car market really stinks right now. I took it up the but on a 2002 VW Golf... but if i was a used car buyer, I'd probably stay away from the 2.0 engine too :)

You could try eBay if you want to leave the stereo in... a lot of people into that sort of stuff look there. Good luck to ya. Hope whatever works out works for the best

Well it really sux but your right. Blue book on the car is 13,000 from a private seller. There is no way in hell i could get that much for it. Especially wiht the 3 that just came out. I think i will put it up for 13,000 since it's in mint condition, and just see what i can get. I'm really thinking about taking that whole system out but i might be a lil goofy bumping with my JL W6v 2's in a porsche , so i may just sell it.
