i have a 93 and am at a point in the cars reconditioning phase where i work on the appearance (anything from lowering to wheels to any JDM parts).. so it would be cool if u could post your favorite pics of any 1st gen, it would also be cool if u could tell me where to get the parts as well.. thanx

Oh and sorry if this is the wrong forum.. i couldnt decide..haha

Nope, I belive this is the correct forum
also as far as lowering, if you are going to do something, I think it should be done to the full extent, use some air struts for the lowering, that way it is adjustable, as far as the wheels get some 17's or even 18's. Does anyone know the width needed to keep within tucking range??
Also as far as the parts, i belive there is a section here that sells some, but I honestly think that you should do custom work instead of buying things that people sell. Like the molding, pull that and then get all the glue off. The gutters, pull the plastic piece and the shave it. Then shave your door handles and then also shave the taillights in the back and mold in some LED's. Also you can easily make some ground effects with fiberglass, and not only is it cheap but you will alwasy know that you did it urself and no one else runs it. Im in the proccess of working on my custom ground effects, and there is a lot of sanding on the fiberglass but it is well worth it!!

well i know how to work fiber glass already i just wanted to get some cool ideas for a starting point.. like photoshops and such its pretty much a JDM car so im not looking to be too wild and i think ive chosen the wheels (bronze gram lights).. but i also need ideas for placement of gauges and such aswell.. i kinda want the car to be fairly sleeper (no stickers or big wings) and im keeping the stock (j-spec) BP-T unmodded for now.. i also need an exhaust set up that is not loud and looks nice.. and im still debating whether i should paint it another color besides black or not

Unfortunatly. I dont have photoshop, so I cant do n e
but i dunno if u already know bout this but check out http://www.corksport.com/
it has some parts for the 1st gen
also as far as ur guages, all I can think if is putting them in ur glove box, or u can check out dakotadigital.com and get some digital guages, which would be sweet
also as far as the color, black is a really nice color, but gotta keep it looking good, n e dents or scratches or dirt, shows easily, maybe make it an exotic color?? like neon green or what not?? or maybe u wanna still keep on the DL so maybe somthing like black or blue wouldnt be bad

Well for lowering i used ford Escort Coilovers. It dropped it about 2inches, and it is very very firm, doesnt bounce much, ive never bottomed out...i like it just have to watchout for humps on the highway or ill hop in the air, but thats only of om speeding..:)

heres an old picture of t with coilovers

www.zxtuner.com (escort coilovers)
lol there are more places but i cant think right now....but corksport is the 1st gen savior!!
thanks guys... i still need more ideas, but i like the digital idea... and JITB ill let u know about anywork i need help on:D

hey JITB, where is that pull apart in buford.. ive been looking for a good one around but all i can find are already parted out???

l i was looking at your pics of yer car again and was wondering.. was your car originally an DX???

As far as i know its been a LX all its life...

And there is 2 pull a parts on buford Hwy, One is were they let u go in no matter what, and the ohter one u have to ask for your parts first...and then if they have it than u can go to the yard. If you get on buford hwy ,from Jimmy carter the first pull a part is like 5 miles down the road from jimmy carter on buford. And the second one is like 3 miles after that Thats the better one i go there alot, they have like 10 1st gens proteges out there, 2 2nd gens. Heres the website for the better one: http://www.pullapart.com/

Here's my favorite Protege. 1993 GT, one of only 500 made. (headbang)
