I think it would be pretty ill if i could put a lcd screen where there radio is supposed to go and move the radio somewhere else like where the air/heat controls are. Has anyone done this before? any helpful tips would be hella cool. I want a 7" monitor there, i think there well be room. Also what kind of DVD or regular cd player will let me output to the screen?

That is a good idea, putting the screen where the radio is, but i saw it done the other way around.
What i mean is, somebody? put a 7" screen where the cup holders are, tilted up at a 45 degree angle. Maybe you can consider that.
But I think getting a DVD head unit would be the easiest.

DVD headunits are tons more expensive than a nice LCD screen and a dvd player.

yea i did it, you can put the cd player where the ash tray is, cut some metal put in that bottom pocket. I dont know lots of ideas.

that looks pretty good i may have to pick one up after I figure out which deck to get

You could use that Kenwood with a carputer with Video out. Wont be as nice and crisp as VGA, so i wouldnt personally recommend it, but its possible if you wanted to go that way.

be sure to download the latest version of Internet Explorer and run higher than 640x480 resolution. For $490 thats the screen molded into the trim piece that plays things like video games and DVD players. the touchscreen option is an add on option.

Captain, with yours what kind of head unit could you use that with? Does the unit have to have an interface software in it to allow you to use the touch screen stuff?

I like the look alot, but I'm just curious if it will work with something like the Alpine DVA 7996.

you can use any headunit you want as long as it has auxilliary inputs

Here's mine, completely removable and serviceable by me and not the vandals (They would destroy it trying to get it out):

If I had a machine shop, I would definately look into making the mounts to sell to you guys. I had to do it with a dremel and and JB weld since I can't weld aluminum. The bezel just took a lot of elbow grease and piling on layers of bondo until I got it right.
Oh, and the paint...I know, I know...it's a perfect match isn't it? ;)I never even touched the CF part.

Got any "along the way" photos of the Dog? That looks absolutly awesome.
