If you do not know how to diagnose the issue, take it to a qualified shop. You can spend a lot of money trying to fix it yourself but if you don't know what the problem is, you're just guessing.

I think having the shop check it out is the best thing you could do.

Our 2010 3 Touring needed only a battery and a set of front brake pads in the 76,000 miles we put on before it was totaled in an accident. Our new 2014 3 Touring has 22,000 now and has never been back to the dealer for anything. I would have no problem expecting a Mazda 3 to reach 250,000...

You missed my point entirely. Of course they need to recall, but a recall is still a problem and an inconvenience to the owner. But Mazda has fewer recalls than most.

I have to disagree. Anything that necessitates a trip to the dealer is a problem. I do my own oil changes and routine maintenance precisely because I hate spending time at auto repair facilities. This recall is a 15 minutes software reflash for which I now have to schedule an appointment and...

Our 3 turned 20k miles yesterday. Hasn't been back to the dealer even once. Completely problem free. But came home to an emission recall notice. Bummer. The trouble free streak is over.

I find the seats firm but not rock hard. I have driven as many as 10 hours in a day and was not uncomfortable. Mine is the touring model.

Actually, we bought it in early January. Either way, it was well into the 2015 model year.
