Manual seems to respond to hypermiling well
I have the MT and I shift around 2k RPM's and coast frequently. In town, I am somehow getting 33 mpg. Just did a 2k trip from SLC to Portland and I got 34-38 mpg on the highway. The wind was a huge factor, in the Hood River Gorge there was a crazy headwind and going 55-60 I was only able to get in the high 20's. Anyway, so far I am happy with the MPG of the manual and feel I can be better at impacting the MPG than I would be if I had an auto.
