Show me your CX-5 wheels

I've been researching more aggressive tire/wheel options. Currently my '21 CX-5 carbon turbo is on corksport lowering springs and bilstein b6s with stock wheels, 19x7, and the toyo's :(
Really like the idea of switching to Konig as a wheel brand, possibly the Dekagram 19x9.5 ET35
Was also looking at michelin ps4s's 275/40/R19 as a near equivalent on the tire sizing side. Another option may be the pilot sport 4 SUV although they only go up to 265 width so may drop down to 255 or 245/50 if I go that route.

I understand the gas mileage and handling issues with going to wider wheels and outside of recommended sized tires.
No you don't.
(Thank you for your concern)
Found some pictures of similar but not exactly the same setups on fitment industries (e.g. 2022 Mazda CX-5 2.5 Turbo Enkei TSR-X 20x9.5 +40 | Nitto Invo 275/40 | Corksport Lowering Springs and 2016 Mazda CX-5 Touring XO London 20x10.5 +30 | Falken Pro G5 Sport A/S 275/40 | Megan Racing Lowering Springs)

Thought some of you might be going in the same direction and interested.

@whiirrPssh go as wide as you want on the wheels and tires (without rubbing of course)

But stay close to ET45 for the offset. I would not consider anything lower than ET40.

I wouldn't do it unless you really like the look of tires poking out. I think it looks tacky.

But those wheels will look great at 19x8.5 +43.

Also for fitment, don't look at pictures from first gen CX-5s.

Maximum wheel width for a 255/50R19 is 9”, and for a 245/50R19, it’s 8.5”. So you’re basically painting yourself into a corner with a 19 x 9.5” wheel.

If you want smaller tires, then going up to a 20” wheel will increase the wheel width range.

Very true, I would theoretically go 8.5" width wheel for 245-255 tires, I think I'd rather that than going up to 20" if only to avoid the weight increase. Fortunately Konig has 19x8.5" Dekagrams with a 43 offset so even better on that front. What's really annoying is the only offsets they offer for 19x9.5" is 25 and 35...

There's about 20mm of fender clearance now on stock. going to 19x9.5 and 275/45 would be pretty close to flush with a 35ET offset. I agree that a lot of poke is not the best aesthetically.

It will poke out—you are adding 10mm from the offset and because of the section width of the tire, another 1 inch (25mm) (2 inches total width added).

That is +35mm and by my measurements, I had 28mm of gap to fill, so you'll be out around +7 to +10mm once you consider the added section width from your wheels, depending on what size you get.

Also, the proposed tire is insanely expensive. I strongly recommend looking at the Continental DWS06 Plus instead if you want a max performance AS tire. Otherwise, go with the Scorpions or the Conti LX25's and enjoy better ride quality.

Im thinking about doing a set of FC04 19 x 8.5 +45mm with 255/50R19 tire. From what I've read above it seems like it would be a good fit; Was wondering if anyone could advise? Going to drop on Corksports eventually; would like to avoid any rubbing

I have the FC04 in 17x8. I am very happy with them.

You could stick with 245/50R19

Hi All

Been going through posts since 2016 on this thread to figure out the best possible wheel set up for my 23 gtsp turbo. Aus model. If I could get some opinions and help. I’d love to get a new set of wheels to fill out the guards and even put a set of coilovers in a few months. What’s the best wheel/tire combo I need to look for to be perfectly flush with the front fenders. I know the back won’t be flush if the front is and vice versa. I’d like to keep the speedo as accurate as possible too. Happy to go up to a 245 or 255 tyre as long as it’s not poking. I prefer a square set up rather than stretched. The current wheels are the factory 19s with the 225 tyres looks so small and narrow. Any help would be appreciated and also open to a staggered set up but if there are too many cons I’d love to hear them too.
Thanks

It will be if you get adjustable rear control arms and bring the camber back to 0.

The fronts I have not bothered to adjust.

Between front and rear, mine are very similar.

I would recommend staying square so you can rotate the tires normally.

I’ll have a look at the LCAs. Can I ask what setup you have currently? Yeh ideally I’d love to stay square for that reason.
