What have you done to your CX-9 today?

Why would you lie? Pretty easy for them to find out your life schedule.

They have discounts for yearly mileage driven as well as the "less than 15km to and from work." If you have the below 15km coverage, you are allowed to drive the vehicle to work, up to 6 times per month. I know of a lot of people that get this coverage, and drive over 15km to work, 5 days a week. Pretty risky to save a few bucks.

People making false declarations on insurance to save a buck? Yes it happens and happens a lot.

I just have a hard time with insurance companies trying to put people in a box to find reasons not to pay. Life isn’t binary black or white, what if I stopped at work on the way to Costco that day? The concept of unlimited mileage for pleasure but limited distance to work is a very odd concept to me.

That being said, if people are knowingly picking a plan that clearly says you are only allowed a very specific distance a few time per month, then that is different.

Just got back from a short little road trip to the US (Grand Forks, ND). It's been over five years since I last made the trip. Did a bit of shopping, but the trip was mostly just to spend time with the kiddos and hopefully create some core memories.

I did pick up a couple of cheap Masterforce sockets from Menards for my diff fluid service. (y)

Installed wireless charger on my CX-9 2019 in addition to wireless android auto/carplay

If you feel up to it a seperate post with a breakdown of how you did it maybe a link to parts you used would be appreciated. But that looks and sounds awesome
I bought the part for a $100 from here:

Installation instructions can be found here:

Unfortunately, the language is all in Arabic, however by just watching the video you can see it's straightforward, it took me 5 minutes to install it.

Wireless carplay/android auto can be bought from amazon:

Its plug and play not much of complications

Got stuck on a long million person zoom call and decided to shrink my FOB for my 2022 CX-9 signature
kinda crude but could not really leave my work station. It works and fits in my wallet so I am happy maybe later I will do a 2.0 😁

116.5k kms on the odometer now. I did an oil change yesterday, as well as the transfer case drain and fill. Need to stop by the store to get some shallow sockets to do the rear diff next.

What km did you do the transfer case and rear diff or is this your first?

My '21 CX9 is at 55000km. I just did transmission fluid drain & fill at the dealer. They used 12 litre of Mazda ATF FZ and it cost ~$175 total ($13/litre + 1 hr of labor at $20/hr)

Also wanted to drain & fill the TC & differential but dealer checked & said they're still looking good so maybe later

Changed a burnt out LED park bulb, polished the headlights & put some cloth tape on the drivers door sill where my prosthetic leg has been taking off some paint.

I forgot to mention this, but during a recent road trip, I caught a rock on the highway that chipped my front windshield. It took a week for the crack to spread completely across the glass. The car is going into the shop for a couple of new door tomorrow, and they'll be replacing the glass as well.

The hits just keep on coming..

Oh and a couple of days ago, while we were at a friend's house going for a swim in their pool, one of our other friends (who had been drinking) backed into the driver's side rear. Luckily the damage is very minor, and I think I'll be able to just buff it out. She felt really bad about it so I just let it go. But man.. it's like the universe is telling me to trade up to a 2023 CX-9 or something.. haha

Or a CX-70/90? Actually you could probably get a fantastic deal on a 2023 CX-9 plus it will have new tech and be very familiar. Would you go with aftermarket wheels again?

Oh man, looks like you really can't get a break. The worst nightmare regarding ownership of the beloved car. Sorry to hear that.

CX-9 from either 2022 or 2023 sounds like a really good idea, especially if you would like to stick with this model. Software/infotainment system is practically the same as in CX-90 - no wireless android auto or apple carplay however. One thing to consider - 2022 models have no reported issues. 2023 models on the other hand might be missing hands free lift-gate and/or bose audio (somehow were affected by parts shortages at the end of 2022 and early in 2023 - Canada might be less affected than US) and there was an issue with radio tuner and battery drainage (TSB). Good luck.

I like the familiarity of the CX-9, plus I'm a big fan of the looks/proportions. The 70/90 are not bad or ugly cars by any stretch, just personal preference. Mostly for the front end and the sporty (albeit impractical) slope in the rear liftgate. And yeah, I would probably just swap over the 22s as long as the fitment is ok. But I'm getting ahead of myself lol.

I dropped the car off to the body shop today. Should have it back by the 23rd I think. In the meantime I'm driving a rental, a 2022 Hyundai Tucson. It's an ok car, not bad at all, but I immediately missed a bunch of stuff that I tend to take for granted in the CX-9. Lack of ADD, floaty suspension, twitchy steering, and a lot of wind noise. It does have some nice things going for it, but already I can't wait to get my CX-9 back lol.

At least they came to their senses and dropped their horrible CVT or was that just their hybrid?
