Shell Rotella T5 10-30 for my oil

Just did my oil change with some shell rotella heavy duty Diesel oil 10w30 on my 2002 Mazda Protege5 2.0L. Will keep yall updated. 282,050 miles.

Using diesel oil occasionally on a gasoline engine can be effective for cleaning out deposits, but I would not use it regularly.

Why is that? I know it’s the same weight as the normal oil. I thought maybe it would be a better alternative because of the additives in it. My motor is freshly rebuilt with only 5k miles on it so it shouldn’t really have any deposits.
