New CX-60 Owner (UK)

Homura
My first Mazda, aside from an RX-7 back in the 00's..

I came across it purely by chance. I purchased an Alfa Romeo Stelvio Veloce, that continually got delivered to me with faults. While it was at the dealer being fixed, they loaned me a brand new CX-60 Homura, Rhodium White with all of the options.

Suffice to say, after the third 'repair' on the Stelvio, I rejected the car and the deal was done for the CX-60 and I absolutely love it.

UK based.

Poor photo - the weather has been atrocious and I wanted to get a polish and paint sealant on it before heavens opened again.

Looks great in white!

I am curious though, what issues were you having with the Stelvio?

Well, off the block as it was on its journey to me to be delivered the EML light came on. So it went back to the dealer where it stayed for two weeks. They said that they have two sensor issues but there was no reason for both sensors being fault, it can only be one sensor thats not working (mind boggles to logic) so instead of replacing both they had to call out engineers from Alfa to diagnose and repair.

This was then done with a £500 sensor replacement apparently.

It stayed there another week and then found its way back to me. It arrived with a terrible idle issue - upon fire up it was constantly hunting for a few minutes till it settled. This happened on every start up and sounded like a bus from the 80's. Off back it went for repair.

Returned a week later with the collision sensor light on, rejected again and off back it went. Apparently they claim it had been in a collison and the radar needed recallibrating at a cost of £180 and was NOT covered under warranty. The car was mint, there had been no collison, and after meeting the delivery agent a few times now, he was as honest as they come in my opinion. So if anything, it must have been a carpark nudge by another car - and living in London, I could end up paying out £180 every other week if this is what happens!

Enough was enough. I had had the Mazda since the day after the first attempted delivery and loved it...I call it the Zen car as it is so peaceful to drive and be in, which is absolutely lovely when dealing with central London traffic day in and day out! Parking though...thats the main issue :)

The Mazda has been faultless so far, aside from two minor issues which I will get looked at in due course

The DAB radio is intermittent, sometimes it finds the DAB channels, sometimes it doesn't.

The High Beam Assist has a mind of its own.

Other than that he front seats really do need some extendable thigh support.

I am assuming you have automated high beam, no ? Is it turning off/on when it shouldn't ? This technology its pretty old and at least in my 2017 works flawless. Maybe an software update will do the trick.

Also, this might be a stupid question, but when you are going for an oil change, would it be possible to take pictures for the undercarriage. Curious how is it looking down there, insulation, front and rear suspension setup.

Congrats on your car, beautiful machine :)

Yup , the High Beam Assist. It certainly seemed to come on randomly in city driving, having blinded a few bus drivers and them making sure they tell me about it.

I doubt I will ever be able to take photo of what you ask to be honest, in a year it will go in and come back without me entering the dealership, and they are awkward about such things now because of the ridiculous health and safety laws we have in the UK. The only real way of doing that is taking it to an independant specialist, but that won't be till when its out of warranty.

That sucks. Better not use the high beam assist then and just use it manually.
About the underneath stuff, if you know your dealer you can just ask them if you can take some pictures beneath while they are changing the oil. I asked mine when it was under warranty and they let me do it.

In addition, at least my dealer, at the oil change, they provide a video overview of the state of the car, underneath, engine bay, brakes state, etc. and they send a link to your phone to watch it. I found that very useful, ofc, if more dealers will do this, it will be helpful for everybody.

I’ve not had any problems with High Beam Assist.

The DAB fails to reinitialise after shortish times of not using. Overnight seems to be OK.
