Recently I’m trying to have a habit to press the “TCS OFF” button each time I drive the CX-5, and I accidentally hit the Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) button a couple of times. I noticed the button has no effect to turn off the BSM, and didn’t see any “BSM OFF” indicator light lit in the instrument cluster. And the BSM and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) seem to keep working and can’t be turned off by the switch.
Owner’s manual says:
“When the Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) switch is pressed, the Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) systems are turned off and the Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) OFF indication/indicator light in the instrument cluster turns on.”
Anybody else is having the same experience? I actually checked all dash warning lights when the ignition just turns on, but I simply couldn’t find the “BSM OFF” indicator anywhere. If the light bulb or LED has burned out so that I can’t see it, where is the “BSM OFF” indicator in dash?
