Quality of repair service

Disagree. If you have to wait more then a week your dealer is understaffed or your cars break a lot.

...or they have such a good reputation and do such good work people flock to them. In my experience the busier dealers provide the better service. Kind of like a good restaurant. People don't crowd the bad ones.

My experience runs opposite to this. My local Chrysler dealer was "okay". Backlogged weeks out.

Depends on what you have and where you have it. In this area there are 4 Mazda dealers within 20 miles of each other. One of them, mine, usually has a over a week wait, also happens to be a Gold Cup dealer and 2019 Dealer of the Year awards. Tons of good reviews on Dealer rater.com. The other ones will get me in this week if I wanted to.

DFW area does have many Mazda dealers. The dealer I use, Town North Mazda, although is private owned, pl. their service department is decent. The service advisor I*m dealing with knows what I*m talking about, and familiar with most TSBs. Their parts department has Mazda moly in stock, so as non-value line parts such as Denso-made Thai oil filter. If you want moly for oil change, it*s $10 extra than regular Castrol*s.

This dealer uses one Mazda certified mechanic fixing everything I reported during my last warranty service. He screwed up certain things and got corrected by a master mechanic after I complained.

Yeah dealer service varies a lot and YMMV.

I sometimes think they use the master mechanics for the new stuff and leave the older cars fo the "kids".

My dealer doesn't have a bad review anywhere on the internet. Absolutely quality people, good sales guys, great service department. I can always get an appt in 3 days. And they have a board that shows all the appointments for the day. Always full.
That's a good dealer.
