Hello everyone!! 1st time Mazda owner. Geico totaled out my 2018 Jeep Cherokee limited and I wanted another small SUV. After reading all the reviews and going on test drives myself, I decided on a 2018 CX-5. Here is what I paid:
MSRP $33,635 (2018 AWD Grand Touring, Machine Gray, Premium Package)
Paid $29,950 (before TTL and GAP)
Dealer will be installing Remote Start free of charge.
Not a "Great" deal....but I was OK with it. Dealer advertised "Final" price was $30,996. (That included the $1000 cash back from Mazda, $500 off for Black Friday sale, and dealer special discount of $1139 off). He said "they were only making $200 from this car" and that was the absolute lowest he could go. LOL
I think we all know Dealerships cannot stay in business if they only made $200 of every car. After I mentioned the holdback the Dealer gets from Mazda, the secret "Mazda to Dealer" incentives for making their monthly or quarter sales goals, and that the true "Dealer Invoice" is not on any piece of paper....he said "OK, lets talk". In the end, I was able to get him to come down $1046 from the "advertised" sale and a free Remote start and install.
When its all over, the Dealer still makes a nice chunk of money and I do not feel like I am getting screwed.
