Here's the first dealer quote I've rec'd on a Signature for a clean cash deal. Unless there's holdback or other manufacturer to dealer incentives then it looks like they may be holding close to MSRP. I might try Costco's service.

Your price on this 2019 CX5 Signature AWD is $37985. Price is after $500 customer rebate and is in lieu of any special APR offered by Mazda. Just so you'd know, invoice on this car is $36,945.00 so there really isn't much markup to work with specially that this is a hot item with little supply. We won't be receiving another Signature model for a few months.

Please post your cash Signature deals/quotes so we can establish a baseline on what's doable. (trades and financing convolute the numbers)

was this for the Soul Red Crystal?
if so, you're really getting no discount at all besides the mazda loyalty, but that should be $750.00, unless you do not currently own a mazda.

It was white pearl.

There was no dealer discount. The incentive comes from Mazda.

I'm getting the feeling there won't be much wiggle room with Signatures.

If any. It's going to be in high demand with limited availability. No reason for dealers to cut deals if they can sell all they get for MSRP minus the normal "incentives" which are just built into the price.
Early adopters of most everything pay a price for the privilege.

Bought another '19 CX 5 GT AWD with premium. Black this time around. Wife sold her '17 to a friend. Did an in and out deal to get sales tax credit towards the new purchase.
MSRP $34,065
Paid $31,356
Plus we got loyalty and model rebates for $750 & $500 taking price down to $30,106

You're an odd fish. I get being brand loyal. Wife and I both drove Saabs for a few years. But we drove different models. The exact same car to me is odd.
You guys definitely know what you like! [emoji106]

I have pleaded with my wife to get what she wants, but she has always liked what I drive. Go figure. I couldn't even keep her in her Lexus or Audi years ago. She likes crossovers because she is able to sit up and see out better. I don't mind her selection because I have taken less of a hit on depreciation than other vehicles we have owned. WIN WIN!

Looking to buy 2018 GT w/PP. the best quotes I have are 8% off MSRP before incentives in the Boston area. How do I get to 12% discount. Is it better to go to the dealer at this time for further negotiations or continue over email?

Planning to get a 2018 GT with PP AWD. I am living in San Francisco Bay Area, which dealership can discount the most since its close to year end sale.

Continue over email. If you*re content with 12%, I*d just flat out tell them this is what you*re willing to pay (start at 15%), and meet them at 12% since that*s what you*re willing to do. Stay patient, and they*ll bite, maybe pretty quickly. Good luck...

IMHO it's always best to negotiate via email. An email customer is a lot easier to loose, so theoretically the dealers will have to work harder to hook them. If one dealer doesn't get you what you want then try other dealers. (Dealers will try to lure you into the showroom. Don't go there until it's time to conclude the deal.)

The only way a dealer can get you those kind of discounts is if they get special back end money from Mazda for '18 leftover inventory or if they're on the cusp of hitting a sales quota. That varies among dealerships. Try the largest volume Mazda dealership within a 200 mile radius of where you are. Be patient and don't be afraid to say no. One dealer might be comfortable with their year end inventory yet another dealer may be desperate to thin it down. You need to find the later.

With the end of the month and end of the year approaching, time is on your side.

Hello everyone!! 1st time Mazda owner. Geico totaled out my 2018 Jeep Cherokee limited and I wanted another small SUV. After reading all the reviews and going on test drives myself, I decided on a 2018 CX-5. Here is what I paid:

MSRP $33,635 (2018 AWD Grand Touring, Machine Gray, Premium Package)
Paid $29,950 (before TTL and GAP)
Dealer will be installing Remote Start free of charge.

Not a "Great" deal....but I was OK with it. Dealer advertised "Final" price was $30,996. (That included the $1000 cash back from Mazda, $500 off for Black Friday sale, and dealer special discount of $1139 off). He said "they were only making $200 from this car" and that was the absolute lowest he could go. LOL

I think we all know Dealerships cannot stay in business if they only made $200 of every car. After I mentioned the holdback the Dealer gets from Mazda, the secret "Mazda to Dealer" incentives for making their monthly or quarter sales goals, and that the true "Dealer Invoice" is not on any piece of paper....he said "OK, lets talk". In the end, I was able to get him to come down $1046 from the "advertised" sale and a free Remote start and install.

When its all over, the Dealer still makes a nice chunk of money and I do not feel like I am getting screwed.

Sounds like you did just fine, mniper. Sorry about the Jeep, but look at the bright side: you got a nice upgraded ride!
