So you're saying there's a chance!
I dont care what happens after I win

The new WRX will supposedly retain its manual and be a hybrid, 2020 or 2021 or something, so that's probably my path.
So you're saying there's a chance!
I don't lose many bets historically (just sayin))
Diesel CX-5 (with an eye on the SantaFe and new Rav) parked next to something like a BRZ- Veloster N is interesting and a bit more practical too (but next gen twin rumored to get 2.4l- hopefully NA with about 240) that's what I want to see in my driveway in the new few years...speed 3 would probby work too.
I refuse to own a fwd vehicle. They suck.
You guys and girls are missing out but have cheap petrol so probably less incentive to bring into market.
I worked out that the TCO for a top model cx-5 (Ltd here) with 2.2d at 50,000 miles is the same cost as a 2.5 mid range petrol cx-5 (gsx here) with the difference in petrol costs.
If you have hills the d will do steep inclines and sit in 6th at 62mph at 2000 rpm. On the same incline My lighter bmw m3 with a 3.2 litre engine will struggle to do the same without dropping a gear and using more rpm. These diesel Mazda engine are quite good for their size.
You probably know this already but under most driving conditions, the CX-5 is FWD
The Sta. Fe diesel produces more torque but is heavier by more than 100kgs.450NM of Mazda diesel torque makes all the difference![]()

I can respect and generally agree w/that but they don't ALL suck..I do get especially leery when 250+hp and or ft-lb is being sent just frontward but..

^ Hey man I fully get it- when I traded my 128 for the X1 it was the first time I've been manual-less since I started driving..but its coming down to performance or budget focused options and even within that set the choices are pretty slim. This thing is intriguing..wrong wheel drive(no torque steer at least) but like the funkyness and newfound dose of sport- kid is a pretty good reviewer too.

PS- I think 6 or 7 gears is plenty!
PPS- I'm all about manuals and increased driver engagement that is being stolen away but..having a manual doesn't make a car fun(looking at you Subaru Impreza) that I really wanted to like..and it is much improved but the rev hang almost made me puke in my mouth..hated it almost as much as a CVT- not really but it was super annoying.
And Japan, New ZealandOnly available in Australia, Uk will be euro6 d temp with 445nm and 184ps, which is needs to pull over 1800kg.

Well it happened I basically just cost myself 5 or 10 grand over what I planned on spending..3 words
Kia
Stinger
Wow!
I've heard a lot of good about them. Saw one in top trim at the gas station 2 weeks ago and it looks sharp! If I got one, I'd get one in 2 years though with low miles. As a Kia, that's going to lop $15-20k off sticker.
I'm still torn on things, but likely will keep my cx5 until it's dead. I hope. That's the mature thing...
I drove an awd GT1 and it pretty much blew me away. Hell of a performance buy right now..1 issue i had was you have to all the up to get a mechanical lsd maybe not a huge deal on an awd but I'd prefer the rwd..this has me looking more toward its G70 cousin. Keep the Mazda, add the fun car..when you can reasonably do it. Fyi..5 year residual on the Stinger(time will tell) but projected at 43% which to my surprise matches the 3 series to the number.
