2016 Mazda CX-5 - What do you not like?

So we're up to 15 now Yrwie? Come on man. It's hardly endemic. I don't believe it's a flaw that we're all going to have to deal with. Time will tell. But why is your answer to everything "report it to the NHTSA"?
99% of CX-5 owners don't come to this forum. We've seen too many reports about failed LED DRLs so far from less that 1% of CX-5 owners who're here within 2 years of 2016 CX-5 lifespan. Reporting to NHTSA is the only hope to force Mazda having a recall about this issue which is too expensive to fix once the warranty has expired! Only a recall can protect us for any possible LED DRL failures after the warranty period.
Well both of our LED DRLs have failed within a week of time. I’m disappointed about the quality of the LED DRL especially the cost to replace is so outrageous. Fortunately our CX-5 still have some warranty left just need to find some time to stop by my dealer.

I also plan to pull this on my dealer. Hopefully he wont notice I have a touring jejejeje.
Too busy so no time to replace rear tail lights. good deals on eBay - LED ones with resistor included for 40 something bucks. Looks nice too!

I am not poor money wise, time wise I am freaking pauper.

Well good luck! I know many service advisors dont know too much on cars, but the computer system with your VIN would tell him he cant do it when you try to trick him!

Yes we can never have enough time to do things!

Be glad you're not driving a BMW Yrwei. Buddy of mine paid $1,800 for ONE headlight unit. ;)
I'm done arguing about the LED's. For the last time, my friend that I trust who is a district manager in service of one of the Ohio regions assures me that failure is not common. Yes, some fail. These lights are in a harsh environment.
But it is not something most owners are going to have to deal with. Period.
Again, actual friend, not a guy I met at Mazda.

If you use the windshield washer squirter and heat is set to pull air from outside, the smell comes inside. Was this fixed in 17 or 18?

I've yet to see LEDs go bad in brake lights/tail lights. Every now and then they fail within headlight housings because of harsher conditions in the engine bay .....but mainly European cars.

Any person employed by Mazda will admit any issues on Mazda products?

When I asked my service advisor at Mazda dealer where I know his GM very well, that how long does it take to replace and realign 2 expensive LED headlights with AFS system, and how long does it take to order the parts. He replied that theres no wait time on parts as they started to stock those expensive LED headlights as therere too many warranty replacements. They, the service department, are actually glad to see this happening as they can fully use their very expensive AFS alignment machine bought from Mazda and charge Mazda accordingly!

I put Katzkin leathers in mine. Love 'em.

Only a couple of things bother me about my 2016.5 CX5
- that stupid little parking brake button. I want my parking lever back.
- and the license plate screws (rusted already). I replaced them with stainless steel.

In another thread I did confirm there's over +50 odd replacements and YES: they actually showed me proof. CX3 is WORST of the WORST and then CX5.

FRIEND. Do you not get that? ACTUAL FRIEND. Knew him BEFORE he got a job at Mazda.

When I asked my service advisor at Mazda dealer where I know his GM very well,
Yea, because you're there once a week, ya' wierdo. ;) THis guy is not your friend no matter how well you think you know him. What's his wife's name? Kids name? Where does he live? Where do his kids go to school? Are his parents alive? Where did he work before? What does his wife do? What does his wife drive? Where did he go to college?
Questions I could answer about my FRIEND.

friend
noun
1. a person whom one knows and with whom one has a bond of mutual affection, typically exclusive of sexual or family relations.

I've known him for years prior to being a Mazda owner. When we met he worked at Audi.

We play poker together. He's not going to just tell me what I want to hear because he works for Mazda. Jesus, man. Get it now?
/FIN
(for real)
hehehe

Still love ya' buddy. You are passionate, I give you that. But as much as you gripe on this brand I don't know why you still care. If I had as many complaints, I'd move on.

Yeah if I don’t care about Mazda I’m not going to bother to say anything with my opinions or waste my time to give information or answer any questions if I can contribute. Talk is cheap and after 2,490 posts of yours I’m still waiting for your first write-up or something about CX-5 in How-To section which can really help some CX-5 owners.

But I still like you too especially your passion of defending Mazda whenever there’s any negative opinions or complaints even without telling the truth sometimes. An old post just in the previous page stated that you said you counted only 3 failures on 2016 LED Signature DRLs in a LED DRL thread which is not a big deal, but in fact at that time it was already 10 in that thread! Now there’re even more failures including mine! I’d like to see your reaction when you see your LED DRLs failed but out of warranty, as I’m almost certain every 2016 CX-5 with original KA0G-51-031C and KA0G-51-041C LED headlights the DRL LEDs are ticking time bomb and they eventually will fail!

You don’t have to tell me what the “friend” means. As the matter of fact what I said in my previous post has nothing to do with my good GM friend. It’s only a fact I’ve found out from the service department of my Mazda dealer. And Mr. bmninada has been told the same thing by his Mazda dealer “friend” too!

OMG. Never going to let it go that I said 3 and it was 10. Come on man. Let it go.
I didn't intentionally lie because I'm some crazed fan boy which is what I think you're implying. That was just being wrong.
And my 2500 posts are s*** because I haven't done a "how to"? That hurts, man. [emoji31] I'm not handy, bro. I'm an IT guy, not a mechanic. I can change fluids...and tires. That's about it.
If my lights fail you will be first to know.

I’ve got lots of time for 52 - he’s obviously very knowledgeable but he has problems with bees in his bonnet and when he gets one he can’t get it out.

Don’t let him draw you. As for how much you do to your car, it doesn’t matter. There are loads of members that don’t even post and are happy to just browse. It doesn’t matter and not a measure of your entitlement to comment.

Yes I get that smell on my 2015 car.

I've literally seen at least two different (at least I believe they were different) 16 cx5s locally (within 15 mi) with 1 burnt out led on the front. Meanwhile my PRC $10 drls are going strong for like 3 or 4 years now lol

Well you were wrong, perhaps you need to step back? (smash)

I ain't defending Mazda here but see: how good their dynamics are? What the thread says and where we're now .....

Don't forget you should be able to update the head-unit firmware as well.(spin)
I've already hacked it. I don't want to update the firmware now. But if I ever do, I'll surely make that my first how-to. [emoji23]

Another genuine issue with first gen 16 CX5, small speed bumps in office zones or rental communities - the rear suspension handles it awfully. Every time i cross unless I am under 5 mph it goes THUD. As if it fell from the sky. Friend carrying tea in a cup spilled it. This seems to be better for 17 but not good Mazda.
