What did you pay for your CX-5?

Just a quick update :

Long story short. Went to the dealer today. Played the game. Walked out with a 2017 mazda cx5 touring with iactive package machine grey for 27900 total with 1.9%apr. (Took the advice from a member here. Rather take the price then hassle over another couple hundred..times precious)

Is this North or south Cali? And what was the breakdown?

Florida. Really? Wow, every dealer has quoted me with a dealer fee and most are $799.95. Should I tell them all to eat it?

No, but in your analysis, subtract the dealer fees from the "dealer discount" they claim they are giving you. End of the Day the actual discount is just 300 some dollars in your case.

In California, there is a law to stop dealers from pulling such shenanigans. All Dealer fees are limited by the law. So its easier to compare a deal. But I always recommend comparing OTD (out the door) price between your options

I always have it listed separately up here in Canadia

Yes, then its listed appropriately as "freight or destination", not as dealer fee . Another phrase used is "doc prep fee" if not "dealer fee"

South cali.
What do you mean by breakdown ? The prices such as doc fees, license fees and etc? The funny thing is that we didnt do a breakdown at the dealer. My first asking otd price was 27650, we talked for a bit and the price would not budge to that range even though with all the research and persuasion they didnt buy in. My last call was a bluff... told them my last otd is 27900 if they can do it than great if not we shake hands and depart. Thats how the deal got sealed. I did scan through the documents and i saw some weird fees such as tire fees , doc fees , whatever. I didnt really care what fees i was charged as long as it ended up to be 27900 total than im fine with it. Sorry this post might not be able as helpful..
