New 2017 CX-5 Revealed

I wonder if it will sound any better. On my 2014 GT, the rear speakers are barely audible and the centerpoint feature is useless.

Cant you tune each speaker/speaker set individually to fix that? hell, even my 2001 Trans Am had an 8?-band equalizer.

Filled mounts and bushings again... get ready for blown motor mounts like the last gen mazdas. At least hardrace will probablu come out with hardened rubber versions.

Oh lord. Seriously? Yeah. This is going to suck in a few years. I'll keep my 2015 all over again!

Don't panic. One person suggests that hydraulic mounts are no good and everybody jumps like a lemming. Vehicle and component manufacturers spend millions on development to make vehicles better. Just because some Luddite thinks he knows better, doesn't mean he does. The bloody things haven't hit the showrooms yet.

I've never EVER seen a vehicle that this was good to go on in 5-8 years.

Thanks, I misread the op, and it's no surprise mazda moved on from liquid filled mounts. Although a mm os just a large bushing so I'm curious how well these liquid filled mounts wil hold up.

I know the diff mounts are probably going to be liquid filled. No thanks. As violent as this transmission can be at times...no way.

I don't think Mazda would be sorry to see you go to another brand. I'm surprised you haven't taken that step already unless you did and this is just a bit of sport for you.

Why would I? I like my CX-5. I'm just not above criticizing something just because I'm financially vested in it.

By the way, do you speak for Mazda, or are you just committing the logical fallacy of appeal to authority by lumping your opinion in with Mazda as a brand? Yes, this was rhetorical.

When will the 17's be in US dealerships?

I haven't heard anything from Mazda yet but the promo photo of the red CX5 coming off the assembly line was RHD with black upholstery.

[I think the promo photo was staged]

Is Mazda one of those companies that drops a '17 IN '17? I know Ford used to nearly drop '13's in 2011, with some models, lol!

Well that certainly says something for Mazda if you are still interested in them after all the trouble you had with the sat nav the first year. !!

I know, but the Sat-Nav is no longer Tomtom albeit was finally sorted. Mazda to be fair were brilliant, they done everything in their power to solve the matter, but sadly Tomtom divorced themselves from it all. TomTom customer service was outrageous, and the only thing they were good at was blaming Mazda all the way through.

Would be nice to think the issues encountered by most owners in that period was the reason Mazda pulled away from Tomtom.

Funny how perceptions vary. I have come across quite a few with a more favorable view of Ford, They even substantiated their point by referencing many auto industry articles expressing concern for Mazda without the financial might of Ford.

I think to some extent it's a generational thing - I find that older folks tend to be more anti-ford, you get more of the 'found on roadside dead' jokes etc

Maybe older folks do more research and don't get so emotionally attached to any one particular car that they would ignore current quality and reliability trends?

I did a good 8 months of solid research using every available resource I could get my hands on before purchasing my CX-5. The Escape was actually on my shortlist for a time due to the features for the price point, and I took a test drive and was actually pretty impressed. Since then, the 2017 Escape has been recalled for unlatching doors while at highway speeds, and the Escape has a long history of prior awful-sounding recalls during its lifecycle. The platform is shared with the Ford Focus, and that along with the Fiesta is very nearly bottom of the barrel in terms of reliability, the only brand saving it from being the worst is FCA. Hell, I even came from a 2010 Focus, and that car is still in my fleet. 60,000 miles in, a lot of things on the car are broken, including the AC, which needs a complete replacement of the entire AC system at $2400 + labor.

Actually, older generations are more brand loyal.

According to the survey, Generation X (born 1965 – 1980) and Generation Y (1981 – 1994), have yet to demonstrate anywhere near the loyalty of their older counterparts. Consequently, their ever-increasing presence in the automotive marketplace will continue to pull overall brand loyalty downward assuming current allegiance levels remain the same.

HIROSHIMA, Japan-Mazda Motor Corporation began accepting orders for the all-new Mazda CX-5 crossover SUV today at Mazda dealerships throughout Japan.

Sales are scheduled to begin on Feb. 2, 2017 and the company aims to sell 2,500 units per month domestically.

The UK Kuga is getting reports of catching fire.

I've had two Fords one great, but the last one was dire, so I haven't bought one since, I'm 65.

like i said, to some extent...you get people who don't give a rats ass, others who change if they get burned by a less than optimal car, and then you get folks like my dad who is die hard mopar & refuses anything they don't make, world war 3 damn near broke out when my mom wanted a camry

Someone has shopped one...

When I see slammed SUV's, I think:

Too dumb to use birth control effectively.
Smart enough to have a job that allows them to buy a new vehicle.
Not ready to truly embrace the life they have ultimately crafted for themselves, but not quite depressed enough just to go ahead and acknowledge reality and buy a minivan.

In short, 90% of tax-paying 'Murica, lol!
