The Brake is still there, just electronic, and yes, you can pull it up while moving....
The emergency brake is gone on the 2016, it's now a parking brake only. Like having two 'PARK's, one on the transmission shifter and one in the center console.

The HANDLE is gone, it is now just a switch... But you can still turn it on in an emergency while moving, or to perform stunts....The emergency brake is gone on the 2016, it's now a parking brake only. Like having two 'PARK's, one on the transmission shifter and one in the center console.
Glad to find one or two people here who appreciate adaptive headlights. They are great and are also one of the main features I want in a car.Headlights: For me, Adaptive headlights are a must. I won't get another vehicle without adaptive headlights, and currently both of my cars have LED headlights, I like the color and light cutoff of them.
Nav: I have a US spec'd CX-5 in Germany with no inexpensive option for NAV functionality. I use google maps for all my Navi needs in the Mazda. My only compliant is the silly mount in the windshield. I think it looks tacky.
Actually many people here appreciate the AFS available from Mazda CX-5 in addition to LED headlights. In fact, the availability of LED lightings with AFS is one of the major reasons why we bought a 2016 CX-5 GT with Tech!Glad to find one or two people here who appreciate adaptive headlights. Now I wish we would have even more sophisticated Adaptive LED Headlamps (ALH) available soon on new CX-5's.
Toyota、Audi、BMW and Mercedes have filed the petition to NHTSA / DOT for allowing this advanced adaptive LED matrix lighting system 3 years ago. We're still waiting while every other region in the world can enjoy this great safety feature!Unless US law has changed ALH will continue to be illegal in the US.
