Subaru Forester hard to start issue?

I was at Costco today filling up the CX-5 and noticed the guy next to me in a '12+ Forester. I honestly don't follow them so no idea which '12+ model year. It took him 6 attempts to get the car started. I thought that is odd... must be on earlier range of gen since if under warranty I would assume it would be fixed. The driver seemed fairly calm like this had happened before and no big deal.

I guess more common that not...

They had a similar issue with the Impreza, however only occasional issue. I lost track so I don't know if this was resolved.
