Crappy OEM All-Weather mats

:
2016 CX-5 Touring AWD
2019 CX-5 Reserve AWD
My CX-5 is 6 months old. Came with all-weather and regular carpeted mats. The all-weather mats were black and after about three months they've turned gray.
Anybody experience this?

They looked pretty nice when they were black since they matched the interior which is also black. Not so much anymore.
Nobody has sat in the back and they've turned gray as well.

I'll probably mention it to Mazda service when I take it in for an oil change in a couple weeks.

I optioned mine with OEM all weather mats and mine are still black. Did they change the composition since 2013?

You might try giving them a scrubbing with Murphy's oil soap/water.

Any pics?

FYI, when shopping for mine, there were a couple of sellers on eBay with the same "graying" noted--mostly used sets, but there was also a dealer selling two or three new sets that had also grayed from poor storage (I think that's how they phrased it). One of the dealer's sets also had greenish discoloration. I'm gonna assume the green was from either something else stored on top or something that leaked onto it. :)

Funny the OP mentioned this, there's a seller on Ebay selling discolored OEM all weather mats.

I hear that some mats has a tendency to discolor due to winter salt, however I never heard a case like this on Mazda mats.

2.5 years and still black. Got mats from the dealer on day one of ownership.

Mine had not gone through a winter yet so no salt. I brought it up to the Mazda service advisor when I had my car in for an oil change last week and he blew it off.
Suggested I clean them with soap and water. Duh. I tried that and the rear mats have never been used and they're gray also.
It's not dirt although it does look like discoloring from salt or some other corrosive.
Looks like no satisfaction from the dealer. I guess I could always paint them.

I give mine a spray with tyre-black every few months to keep them looking ok... it's cheap rubber, won't hold it's blackness without due care...

When I bought my CX-5 last year I immediately swapped out my carpet insets for the following aftermarket allweather mats: 3D Maxpider. They are better than WeatherTech and cover ALL of the dead pedal. They are a custom fit like WeatherTech but much cheaper, more functional and better looking in my opinion. I bought mine in Canada from the following site but they are available in the US. As well, Google "3d Maxpider" and click on the site that compares these mats to WeatherTech. Really interesting.

Here's where I got mine:
